Changed out my front upper control arms with new ones since I didn't feel like pressing out bushings and a seized upper balljoint.

Still need to look into buying an ASR sway for the rear and possibly front, need to find some 3.5 kg/mm springs for the front and 4.0 for the rear to put on the Tokico Blues I have in the attic for it. Hopefully that won't be hymen busting.

As much as I wanted to keep this Integra original, the amount of worn and original parts on here sucks. Instead of letting maintenance slide for originality, I suppose it is improving it.

>Sell
The engine blew a few hundred feet from the dealer my Integra was at, hell I was headed there to look at it and probably drive it. Bought the Integra a week after this happened. Looked at a few Miatas, third gen Integras, more Preludes, an MX6 and a few Subarus. Ended up buying the Integra for 2k though, which I think was a great fuckin deal.

I didn't want to sell my Prelude, so I ripped the engine out, found the remains of a rod bearings and the four others that were worn, plus the oil pump that was clogged up, the rings were bad, timing belt was about to go and so was the water pump. The engine had 257k, so I considered rebuilding it. The Prelude sat out in my driveway under a cover and the neighbors complained after it sat there for three months or so.

Also, I had a D2J5 5 speed from an 88 Prelude that had demolished fourth gear when the engine flat lined. No idea why at all. That car was restoreable, but it was a giant mess.

$50 from the junkyard for it.

I live in white bread suburbia. Where you can let your dogs bark at 3:00, but having something on your property under a cover is heresy.

It had 13 owners and a titch short of 258k. It was time for it to rest. Plus the trailing arm mountings were fucked at this point.

that sucks man,
theres two boats (old american cars) sitting in one of the garages on this property. clearly non op and parking agreement says cars must be running but we can't get the owners to move them for actual tenants that live here to use that space.
owener of the building asked if he could use a garage for storage, told him there would be if these cars were gone, but he just let them stay.
whoever owns the cars doesn't even live here.if they did i wouldn't care as much

Alright so I got the 86 Civic wagon, cleaned out the carb and it runs good. Looked up some more info on the car itself and I'm confused on how to lower it. The rear seems somewhat easy, but the front torsion bar confuses me a little bit. Also, planing on installing R1 carbs on it since it cheaper than a rebuild kit.

incming wall of text

>-jack the car up and place it securely on jack stands -place a jack under the control arm (to take the weight off the t-bars later on) -remove the torque-tube mounting bolts (rear cap) -remove the rear snap-ring -remove the front cap from the t-tube -gently tap the t-bar forwards and remove the front snap-ring -mark the rear t-tube keyway (it will be filed off later) -tap the t-bar out towards the rear -file off the rear keyway from inside the t-tube (so the t-bar can be re-inserted in any location) -clean out the t-tube and apply some anti-seize (for easier removal next time) -slowly jack up the control arm, and partially install the t-bar into the t-tube so the front keyways line-up -(now to the rear) raise or lower the control arm until the rear keyway on the t-bar lines up with your marking on the t-tube (of the filed-off keyway) -slowly jack up the control arm until the keyway on the t-bar is one spline away from the mark -when everything is lined-up, tap the t-bar completely into the t-tube and put the snap-rings and caps back on -make sure the height adjustment nut is hand tight before lowering the car to the ground (or the suspension may lower too much) -now lower the car to the ground and bounce/roll it so the suspension can settle -make adjustments with the height adjustment nut as you see fit. *the t-bar should only be adjusted one spline away so the car is not lowered too much. note: by doing this you will decrease suspension travel in the front shocks resulting in possible bottoming-out. in order to correct this you can file off the brake line bracket on the shocks and position the shock 1" lower in the front knuckle. this faq is as complete as i can think, and may seem complicated to some but have a look under you car or in a service manual and it'll all make sense. and enjoy being lower!

The seating position for acorns is incorrect, im on my phone so I can't draw you a pic, but tuner lugs narrow down into the correct opening size around the bevel of the wheel openings for the lugs. Tire rack won't provide you with the correct lugs not for free. Acorns are cheap heavy shit

lol I am in the midwest as well, it snowed tonight but it didn't reach an inch though. It's not really snow I hate but the fact that people's driving and salt on the roads give it a bad stigma imo. I was already done with it when I plowed for like 2 hours after that first blizzard we had last month.

I need to take more pics with my point and shoot so my laptops has some new fresh pics.

Finally got that dreaded trunk latch problem...
Replaced the actuator but it still won't work. Anyone with a DC2/DC4 fixed this problem? I check Team-Integra but my problem still persists.
I think it might be the wiring since I swapped out the actuator twice and checked the relay.

With those twin plugs on the 2.5, you have to take off the entire intake, but that's worth.

If you're looking to make a profit, mail it here and I'll sell it for 2500-3000 because no rust.

You mean for the Splash? Or for a busted Integra?
I'll try and grab some photos when I check it out, and I'll browse some DM CL listings to get a ball park. Not going to be cheap to ship, tires, and whatever is going on with the rego; In the end might not even be worth it.
I'm also not the best with the paperwork side of things, but now's the time to learn I guess
>>

>In the end might not even be worth it.
Yea... After looking it seems $2k for a 'rust free' 4x2 2.3 is about right... And comparing to the SF CL seems like they go for more out here.

I guess it all depends now on if the thing even runs/mileage/tires, and how much rego is.

Shipping would be around 500 for uncovered. For the Splash because it would sit in my driveway until I sold it, and if it didn't go quick then I'd have it with no title for awhile or something of that nature.

For the busted Integra, I'd get shit cheap shipping for that. As long as the quarters, hood and other bits survive I'd be good.

I might buy the 92-93 taillights since they solved the lens problems with the 89-91 taillights.

Capital is always the issue. Unfortunately, the Honda street garage concept has been done time and time again.

>Unfortunately, the Honda street garage concept has been done time and time again.
My interest in Honda is personal, and not monetary by far. I'm more interested in selling rust free (older) cars to the other states; I'd be more interested in the aircooled, and euro market. Probably do to my family, we didn't start buying american till the early 70's, and no japanese until I started actually caring about cars (Fuck I was sanding and beating panels and couldn't give a fuck, it was money) until I had to get one.
Still need to find a 914 to buy my dad so we an do our last job together before he get's too old.

what's up. /hg/ and b21a1 bro, I need your help

I recently got a b21 and it's funky as all hell...

When I accelerate from 1st gear, and sometimes 2nd while rolling, the car/wheels makes like a whining sound and car/wheels seem to slip, but it'll get into gear after that.

Also, the idle will go up and down before the car is on for a good while. White smoke usually comes out the exhaust while it's doing this. I know of the IACV and have yet to clean it, but I wonder if it could have anything to do with coolant/headgasket because of pic related and the smoking

when I changed the sparkplugs I found one all fucked up in what looks like coolant. so far the plugs are all good after changing them a couple weeks ago.

and last but not least, the speedometer and odometer are not working, and the check engine light comes off because of this after driving a while. I'm guessing it's the speed sensor, but this fucking part is no longer sold anywhere. where the fuck can I get it? lol

Your first problem might be the clutch from the sounds of it. Also, check the clutch fluid since that shit is usually burnt to hell from previous owners. Can you elaborate more on this as well?

The fluctuation in idle is the IACV, however when you mention the smoke, plugs (that rust tho) and all that, that may indicate that the headgasket is roached. First thing you should do to a B21A1 is a compression test, however the headgasket being blown would be misleading to the condition of the piston rings.

The B20A headgaskets are no different than any other B series, so it's not a difficult task at the least. Do the timing belt and water pump while you at it, plus adjust the valves, replace the spark plug orings, valve cover gasket and distributor orings.

Was the plug wet when you pulled it out?

The ODO and speedometer went out on my Prelude when an owner had it in 2001, this was because of the gauge cluster. However, when the cluster was replaced, so was the VSS. FIRST thing you should do since you're running a PK2 ECU is to reset it though, plus the ECU may be throwing a code due to the VSS. If that doesn't work, check Rockauto for a VSS or buy one from Honda. I bought mine from Honda on my A20A Accord. Also, are the axles and jack axle in good condition?

Post pics pls. Also, if I haven't posted it many times, the engine as intimidating and shit as it looks will treat you well if it was maintained and you maintain it. Quite easy to work on unless you're replacing the starter lmao.

Gotta take a better look at pic related later on. The bolt just spins and spins and spins and never comes out. Maybe a previous owner put a nut on the other side? I need to change out that upper control arm.

Tougemen mini meet from SoCal
I live the closest to this road but these guys are fast.
No one crashed, I drove faster than normal to keep up.
My speedometer is kill now. Cable from transmission isn't spinning so I think it came loose on transmission side.

So what do you guys think about this:

I have a 9th Gen Civic Coupe (yes it's a manual) and I'm gona put coilovers and wheels on it.

Coilovers: Koni's w/ Ground Controls
Wheels: XXR 527 in gloss silver (17x8) or Mach Me7 in gloss silver (17x7.5) can't decide.

Is that coilover setup any good? Tryna make them last as long as physically possible at a 1 inch drop. And any suggestions for other wheels?

Well takumi lad is t supposed to know shit so you can't have him in the show doing econobox maintenance since his daddy takes care of everything.
I had that thought too.
Initial D is always "he knows how to use his tires" bull but brake pads steering rack and suspension need love.

I'm about to have to put some care into my rear brakes. Broke off the pins that make noise when they're low and will be replacing everything so I'll ride them until they get low enough.

Where can I source a supercharger for the R18?
>>
>>14087056
Eaton m40/45, and a custom intake, right sized belts/mounting, custom ecu/tune etc, and stronger rods/etc.
But who knows there might be a kit designed specifically for the R18.
>who would want to modify an R18 anyways : (

Just give that idea up man, the R18 isn't worth it, use it for a DD and save up for something worth the upgrades. If you're deadset on a SC Honda, then look into D/B/H/K, and a rolling shell to throw it in
>>
>>14085880
Not forever, but a new OEM or OEM quality axle will last many years, 6 months out of a parts store reman piece of a shit is a miracle.

Tfw that's the main reason why I am considering dropping a VR6 into my Gen.8. My buddy is buying a Jetta with one in it and he's gonna swap the engine out for the 1.8T and I offered to take it off his hands when he does the swap.

You should totes grab the VR6 when he's done, but also don't think about swapping that in to a civic, it would need custom mounts, a complete rewiring, transaxle etc.
It would be cool as fuck, it's just not going to happen unless you have deep pockets and/or the skill to do it all yourself.

Get the VR6, and then find a cheap Mk1-2 Golf/Jetta, or a Mk1-2 Scirocco to drop it in, and after that you might get a 1.8 16v from those to play with.
Ooh, or a Fox wagon. VR6 fox wagon sounds awesome as fuck
>>
>>14089076
A VR6 Scirocco would be the shit.

>My nigga! where you got this from???
The depths of the now defunct RPR wiki.
For some reason it all got nuked, and there is nothing on it, but you can still see stuff if you check the page history.
Really a shame, there was a lot of useless info on it, but some rare bits of very useful things.
> Don't know if I still want to mess with it. Since they aernt that reliable.
I'm not really sure on the reliability, but the mechanical steering for the 3G should be easy to rebuild/grease and boot again.
Trouble is finding the gear for under a grand, or pulling one yourself from a junkyard.

>My target last year, until the JY owner told me they wouldn't put it on the rack and I'd have to bring my own jacks and jackstands to lift it. In mud made of clay dust, rust, and glass. No fuck you Mr JY man, now you don't get my business.

Cheers mate, I take it they are rare as rocking horse shit in the states?

There are less and less on the roads each year...last I heard there was only about 700 - 800 left on the road....mainly due to bulkhead rust and people fucking their engines through bad driving. Most are in the UK but there are a handful in mainland Europe.

I'd kill for a clean, unraped EG over here...K20 swap that bitch and make STI owners cry!
>>
>>14091444
Its the UK/EDM Accord Type-R...the JDM version was called the Euro-R for some reason...yes, Honda marketing are 'tards...
