What's it like getting 10mpg?

I imagine it's similar to paying $6 for a roll of paper towels that you can get across the street at Walmart for $3.
>>
>>14064580
I don't like the 599 and F12 much because they are so large, I'm 6'0 and feel like I'm a child that stole my parents car when I was 13 in them, especially when they have the racing seats, I can barely see over the dash. Engine-wise they are absolute beasts, essentially the same engine as the Enzo/LaFerrari.
>>
>>14064641
It was my dream car for a while too. I loved it but, it was unreliable and parts were beyond expensive. It also didn't help that I was getting an average of 14 mpg. It would cost me over $300 a month in gas alone, and when premuim was closer to $4 a gallon I would spend close to $500 a month at the pump. With the negative parts of owning the car stated above I can without a doubt say it was the most fun vehicle I have owned. The 7 pulled like a fucking freight train over 70mph. Fastest I ever went was when I was racing a base C6 on the highway. He was about at car length ahead of me the whole way up to 150ish then we had to slow down.

I'll be adding one of these to my collection soon. Whole car for $400, sounds like the engine even runs. Plan is to pick up a pair of 4v AJ6 heads for our and make them fit, which is more effort than it's worth, and then drop it into an S130 shell, which is also more effort than it's worth. I'm notorious for having more skill than sense.

That's better than my big block V8 does anon... 8.4L stronk.
>>

Interesting, thanks. My boss is picking one up this week and I've never even seen one. He found one used at a good deal, figures can drive it a while and not cost him much while he waits for his 488 that's soon to arrive.

Check it, v12 reporting in. It's a heep I bought for 1500, so it's pretty bad. Still, it carried me to and from my summer job without complaint or issue. Better than a BMW could manage, I figure. It's curiously easy to work on, with the biggest hurdle being the computers. God, there's at least 8 of the things. At least a code reader is all of three wires, a switch, and a light. Just have to be willing to stand there pushing a button for however long to sort out most engine management issues.
It also helps that I have a 1995 e320 as a stablemate, since it basically carries one half of that v12 under the hood. Anything I learn about one car applies to the other.

Low pressure turbocharging. Lets them use stock internals, compensates for altitude, improves throttle response. Not all turbo builds are about max power.
Lag, torque, power, and complexity can all be set up however the builder wants. The objectives the BMW guys set didn't call for any more power.

This guy did his build to make his jeep work at high altitudes.

you mean mobile.de ? because if you do, you must be mistaken. even on there, they're rare, and when they do appear they're VERY expensive. like, as expensive as a brand new S600

unless you mean regular W140 S600s, not S72s. those are cheap when they're high mileage and haven't been maintained, for a good reason like you said.

Yeah, mobile and autoscout. Of course they're rare, still 3 in 5 years. Might've been the only 3 in ages, obviously. Cheap, well, in terms of what you get. The three were from 30k€ (lack of documents, low milage) to 70k€. I've seen one somewhere else for...I think it was 15 or 25k€, but at those prices....you know.

>>
>>14064601
I want to drop an M70 into an E34, with a manual transmission. Finding one that bolts on to the V12 is hard, but since they modify E36 gearboxes to fit everything between Merc engines and 1JZs, surely you could make an adapter plate or something.

Then I'd go for Megasquirt 3, ITBs, more aggressive cams, and headers. Maybe after my current and next MB project I'll go for a BMW.
>>
>>14064755
850 is by far the best cheap v12 option.
actually looks good and wont rape you as much as the mercs.
they are mostly automatic as far as i see though.
prices should be under 20k.
