>Notice car temperature getting high
>Never goes above 195F
>Idling today while waiting for boss
>gets to 207
>There's lots of coolant
>check around
>Fan not running
>Check fusebox after work
>No blown fuses, but one of the "cool fan" ones on the diagram isn't there
>All other fuse box pictures don't have that fuse
I'm confus, all the fuses are fine and I've never had any issues with heat before. Is there a way to test if the fan is still working at all?
>is a 2007 cobalt
>yes I'm that retard who ran out of oil the other day

Test the fan.

How about thinking about when it'd be on?
>HMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Maybe when the fucking car is running at temp?
Good god, you're an idiot
Some fans don't kick in until later.
My friend's 2001 Camry runs at 210 degrees, along with a few other Nissans I've checked.

Gee, I must be a genius because I checked the engine bay with the car on after I drove it home. Where do I get my PHD?
>>14063972
Nowhere, that's a fucking basic action. Great job though! Shows you're still alive!
How about voltage to the terminals at temp?
Cobalt's heat up like that at idle, once you get moving it drops down to proper temp, it concerned me at first but I looked it up and they all do it

You need to put the relay back on there for your fans to work
Cars will get hotter while idling
My Camaro will stay around 197-201 while running and will go all the way up to 225 before the fans kick on while idling

>Is there a way to test if the fan is still working at all?
Yeah, drive the car. Once it's hot, stop the car and let it idle. Get out of the car. Open the hood. Wait 5 minutes and see if the fan kicks on.
>If it doesn't
fan clutch
fan relay
btw thats a relay plug not a fuse plug in your pic

That's weird, my Cavalier would heat up to 90C and stay there, no matter if I was idling or cruising. Makes me feel better since someone is coming to look at the car to buy on Saturday. Thanks anons
