No the type Rs weren't the lightweights the ZEROs were. Type Rs had mild weight savings and better suspensions than a base, but the NSX type S ZERO I believe was the lightest.

Find it fucking hilarious both Nissan and Honda are now fucking with the one thing that made their flagship sports cars great, the Price. The old NSX and GTR aren't cheap, but they were affordable enough that the average person could get their hands on one without a huge issue, but now they're 6 figure super cars and have pretty much destroyed the heritage their predecessors built up.

$65k in 1991 is easily $110k in 2015. The price hasn't changed that much, given the amount of tech the car has.
