Not per se a cool car, but dad owned a white Peugeot 405 saloon. Spent miles and miles in the backseat of that one, and to this day I still know the license plate (HD ZR 22). Really wish prices on 405 Mi16's would drop, but they won't - nevermind finding one in the white color he had.
Also, he owned a Fiat 1500 Spider, pic related, which I loved. I'm really hyped about the new 124 because of that, but I know the guy he solsd it to, and I'll keep chasing that one. Red car, black hardtop, wind in your hair motoring, I'd just love. Or maybe restomod a barnfind one or something, I've got some contacts in Italy for that. Swap in a modern 1.4 T-Jet, and it'd be amazing.

My grandpa owned a Mazda 323 (4th or 5th gen, 3 door hatch), which I really liked. Might get the AWD turbo one as a first car.

And then there's my late mum's car. she owned a Peugeot 806 to drive us around, nothing special, but in the weekend, she and dad each had one of these: a Neckar Jagst 770. Basically, a Fiat 600, built by an NSU daughter company, with suicide doors, and a fabric roof for sunny motoring. Lovely car, and apparently only 4 remain in the entire country here (NL). Dad still has his, and he's slowly restoring it, and he wanted to sell mum's car. At which point I may or may not have stolen the registration paperwork, got the title transfered onto my name, and promptly got kicked out of the house. I don't really care, you just don't sell my dead mum's car. Things are slowly getting better with dad, but the only thing I need to wish for, is to get this thing restored, and up and running again.

Pic related, it's the exact same color.

Let's see if I can remember my family's entire vehicle history:
Dad and mom owned that 405 and 806 together.
Both had a Jagst 770, one blue, one grey.
Grandpa 1 had several 323's, but couldn't work a clutch for his life. Drove one untill it fell apart, one untill he crashed it (some kind of diabetic attack, idk, I was 4 or 5), and last one we sold when he died.
Grandma 1 had a 405 estate, which got followed by a 3 door 206, which she kinda hated and had electronics issues, and is now driving a 206 SW, and she really likes it. Made me a bit proud.

Grandpa 2 bought a brand new 4A-FE E110 Corolla 4 door. Dunno when he did though, I was born in 94. Drove it untill last year, and it was falling apart. Dude was a carpenter, and kept all his tools in the back, all the time, and lots of wooden...stuf he needed for something. Anyways, he never replaced his shocks or springs or anything, but one day he sold the factory, and we took everything out (last year). And then we discovered that it had no functional suspension anymore.
I helped him look for a new car, and he eventually setlled on a '13 autmoatic Mitsubishi Colt, which he really likes. Not like it matters anyways, he'll lose his license within a year due to his eyes deteriorating, but we'll just let him do his thing and keep his freedom. He's only had two fender benders so far, not too bad for an 78 year old fella.

My dad had one of these. It was surprisingly fast for what it is from what he's told me. He also had several old Renaults that had built motors that I'd like to have.
>>
Basically almost any car my dad owned up until the late 70s, the ones I can remember are:
56 Fairlane Convertible
58 Impala
63 Catalina
64 Riveria
64 El Camino
66? Or 69 Riviera
68 Firebird 350 HO 4 speed Bench seat
72ish Camaro
74? 260z (only Japanese car he has owned)
>>
>>14061978
Also 72 Monte Carlo
70 El Camino
73 El Camino
>>
>>14061228
my parents only ever had boring cars:

VW Beetle
VW Beetle
VW Golf Mk2
Mazda 323 hatch
Mazda 323 wagon
Mazda 323 sedan
Hyundai Atos
Hyundai Matrix (most powerful car they ever had)
Ford Focus C-Max
Hyundai i20 (first brand new car they ever bought)

I think the most interesting car anyone in my family ever owned was a baby blue W123 Mercedes my grandpa had in the early 90s.

>tfw I'm the only one in my family who cares about cars
>>
Some of the cars my dad had:
67 GTO
69 Corvette
two 69 Z/28s
73 454 Corvette
69 Nova SS 396
64 Corvette roadster
78 Corvette
90 Corvette
93 Corvette
64 Impala
The list goes on. He's dead now, and I dont have shit to show for it. About 6 or 7 years ago my mom sold a carcass of a 911 turbo, and now I sorely wish I hadn't thought it was too far gone of a project.
>>
1971 Cuda, 440 6pack, 4 speed with a pistol grip shifter. His brother rolled it down a hill and they left it.
1968 Camaro he bought for 50 bucks. Guy went off road with it and ended up in a creek and left it. My dad used his tow truck, pulled it out, got it running again and traded it for a 72 LeMans. Traded that for a 71 Mustang of some kind. Sold that to his brother and bought something else and then met my mom.

Late 70's must have been glorious with muscle cars being a dime a dozen.

If I could have any car from the past that any of my parents have had it would be my dad's RX7. First gen, silver. I was like very little when he sold it (like several months)

I was told it was his favorite car he'd ever had other than a white 80's Corolla he drove for years. Super clean. But we were poor back then and couldn't have three cars (we also had a Plymouth Fury)

The most exciting car he's had since the RX7 and the Fury is a '96 Subaru Legacy L Wagon, 2.2
