Herro.
Im european and I want a used street bike. Id like a lightweight one, under 95hp for licensing reasons, I don't dig naked even though it wouldnt be a problem, I want it fast and preferably 2 stroke because I love the sound and low weight. Pic related would be perfect but it is expensive for me (€2000 is already a bit too much for me). What do.
>>
>>14061032
>i just masturbated
Stuff your stomach. That quenches some anger as well. OTOH be careful you're not getting too relaxed and sleepy for ride afterwards.

Also, how about not calling your father?

they cost like 2 grand, they are a bike from 1992.
>>
>>14061056
>want it fast and preferably 2 stroke

Old two strokes are either in bad shape or priced horribly high. People are asking 2000€ here for a 10-12 year old RS125 since muh exclusive 2smoke racebike.

IMO your most sensible option for around 2000€ would be finding a middleweight naked from 1999 ownwards. You could find a GS500, a SV650 or a big single from near that date for way less than 2000€. You could also ~2005 twofiddy, but that falls short on the "fast" requirement. Though to be honest if you're starting out, going "fast" shouldn't be your primary requirement. Being fast comes with time and practice regardless of what you're riding.
>>
>>14061078
At this point an sv650, which is lighter more powerful and looks better? Or I could take a cagiva mito and fuck everything else. I want something that can take bends.

Everyone around here keeps telling me DR650 is obsolete shit, that's good for nothing.
But honestly that's the best i can afford for dirts.

As a beginner, should I get a decent street bike instead then or think about getting a trailer and road illegal dirt-bike? Both i believe would be heaps of fun, but i'm more inclined towards woods. Street OTOH would have some practical value as well, whereas road-illegal dirtbike would be just a toy.

>>14061151
Dual sports suck innawoods. Get a dedicated dirt bike if that's how you want to ride. Motorcycles suck for practicality anyway, so you might as well go for the fun option.
>>
>>14061172
Small local market is another problem. Only most popular bikes are adequately priced. E.g. there are no dr350's for sale and only few drz400's which usually cost twice as much as dr650. (Like 1000..1500 vs 2400..3000 EUR for similar year/condition).

>>14061177
Isn't it even more heavier and less dirt friendly? I mean, i have no interest in just cruising around fire-paths. If i cant climb grassy slopes and jump small logs might as well get something thats looks decent and is much better for road and city.

There are few Yamahas WR125 and a tt600 on sale as well? OTOH at 6' those two 125cc's I've ridden both felt undersized and quite lacking in power.

Careful with those tenses anon! You seem goofy in English if your tenses don't agree through a whole sentence.

That being said start with the SV650 it holds its value super well and super motos are very popular right now so they're quite pricey. Get comfortable with the V twin and then move to the sumo in a year or two when you can afford it, you'll sell the sv650 for almost what you paid if you take care of it.

>2003 KTM 200EXC
>decent price: $1400
>KTM had the issues with triple clamps snapping in the 2003 models. (KTM a shit meme)
>speedo/odometer/chronometer removed by previous owner.
>looks like it needs new tires
>bent levers. Lists breakaway levers as a feature.
>everybody says 2004+ has better suspension. And I know 2005+ has beefed up frame. This would probably still handle better than a KDX though.
Should I get it because it has a fair price, or keep looking for something better? I haven't seen any 05+ EXCs anywhere near this price, and KDXs seem to have ridiculous prices all-together unless they're broken.
>>
>>14061296
Buy aftermarket clamps, and the bike is great. But in all honesty you don't need to if your not repeatedly landing jumps sketchy and stressing them. I'm not making excuses for KTM because it's unnaceptable, but for general trail and road use they will do fine.

then maybe you should spend your money more wisely
>>
>>14061321
I should probably buy some rope and soap then.
>>
>>14061307
I don't think it was just the jumps causing them to snap. It was a casting defect making them extremely fragile. If it made it this long then it's probably fine though, right? I'll check for cracks if I go to check the bike out.

I'm concerned if the owner is trying to pull off some sketchy bs, since he claimed the PO removed the odometer. I don't really have any way of knowing how much it's been used.

Also how long do these KTM 2-stroke trail bikes go between rebuilds? That could be a deciding factor for buying one of them or a KDX. I don't really want to have to replace a piston every year or more. I put over 160 hours on my KLX this year, so I would expect to spend around 50/yr on a trail bike.

also
>gear oil changed every ride
That's unnecessary, right?
>>

2003 is one of KTM's best bikes as far as reliability goes, just put a new set of triple clamps on the thing and it will be sweet.

No lol, my dads 2009 ktm300 did about 10,000km on its first set of pistons and rings and that was 10,000km of single trail riding and the occasional track day, no on road use (that means it was fucking flogged)
We did service it after every 10 hours of riding though (so basically every 2 rides, new oil, and oil filter, air cleaner was cleaned after every ride, Kerosene is the best thing for cleaning air cleaners btw)

They do and It's lower than the state approved living wage.

Anyway, the only practical aspect of getting a dirt bike would be installing a hook on car and getting a trailer. That's a pretty useful thing if i can get the dirt-bike cheap enough. Now, I've rarely seen bikes in general purpose trailers. Usually they are on bike specific ones. How hard is it to convert generic cargo trailer for bike or do you need specific trailer that can do both bike/cargo?
>>
>>14061402
You can just roll a bike up on a normal trailer and strap it down with ratchet straps.
>>

>>14061398
Make sure you check out the radiators, if they are bent you will probably be able to get that price no worries (them being bent won't actually hurt anything if they are still sealed and not leaking coolant)
Because they look bent in the pictures.
(My 450's radiators for reference, they are still fine)
>>
>>14061402
Extremely easy to convert. You just need some hooks at either side on the front and rear that you can attach ratchet straps to. Maybe install a couple of wheel blocks at the front and rear so the bars can't turn and wheels can't move but that's not even completely necessary.

I brought my recent project bike home in a trailer that was so small I had to turn the bike diagonal. Three ratchet straps kept it in place for the 140 mile trip home.

Do you have any practical reason for owning a motorbike? Someone else said they aren't practical but mine allows me to get through traffic, use bus lanes and park for free right outside my place of work so it's pretty damn practical for me.
