why do bmws depreciate like a brick but ferraris and lambos seem to hold their value?

Abundance vs. scarcity.
>Ferrari
>Lamborghini
>hold value
Choose 1.
>>14058999
Bravo my friend, couldn't of said it better myself.
>>14058939
Nobody give a fuck about a German Garbageman's car.
Ferraris and Lamborghinis are well made and desirable
Because Lambo

bmw arent super cars? ::OO
is this really that hard to deduce?
that being said, lower-end ferrai/lambo lose value quite a bit over time.
>>14058999
This. The people who buy the BMWs all buy the next model up as soon as it comes out, which means the market gets flooded with all of the old models, of which there are many.
BMWs and Mercs are made in the hundreds of thousands if not millions. They are also pieces of shit that tend to break and require expensive repairs.
Some Bimmers do appreciate. S54 motor E46 is one of those generations.

the value is steadily increasing for e9, e30 m3, e36 m3, z3m, e24, e31, e34 m5... for the e46 m3 (except the CSL which already cost starting from 100k usd) the value will drop for a few years until going back up.

exactly why im looking to buy a 2011-2012 335i coupe
>>14058939
Because the older lambo and Ferraris get, the harder they are to find. In one piece anyway
>>14059939
e36 m3s have gone down. You can actually buy them for 5k now. Not even a while ago they were 7-11k
>>14058939
ferraris dont hold their value at all lmao
30k on one will drop the price in half.
>>14059848
This.
However, its hard to find great used BMWs that hasn't been abused.
When you pay $3,000 dollars for an oil change. Any maintenance performed is done well. exotic cars usually stay in tip top shape all the time. Also the possibility of them being the last V12 cars.

>believing anything but the body actually "comes from Italy"
>>14060113
I find the opposite. You either get a shit owner who abused it or you get an owner who took intense care of it. Usually the 3 series are the most abused, the 5 series occasionally has an abusive owner and I've never seen a 7 that wasn't well maintained.

Why is the tag held on with duct tape?
>>14060389
Not that Anon, but I've spent plenty of time around both. Used to be both Ferrari and Lambo were really, really unreliable. Now that Lambo is owned by Volkswagen it has gotten better, but old ones are really bad. Ferrari has also gotten better but still aren't great. For example the 458 can't even hold a charge for more than a few weeks, so they provide a battery tender with it from the factory. 430s always have check engine lights on and the convertible tops break a lot / get out of sync.

>Abundance vs. scarcity.
Basically this, they just make too many.
BMW really killed their resale by making too many cars and doing those stupidly cheap lease deals 6-7 years ago. They figured 85% residuals and lost a bunch of money plus pumped a bunch of low end cars into the market that made their higher end stuff less desirable
Mercedes is fucking up too. They are now badging AMG on everything 450 AMG etc. doesn't even have an AMG motor, which will make their real AMGs less unique branding wise.
>tfw no z3 or z4 m coupe
Yeah look whose driving
