I was considering this one but was a little scared of the mileage. I actually drove to SC and bought a 93 Turquoise pearl with all the suspension gone through, poly bushings, Koni adjustables, Apexi intake, EMS exhaust and a huge stack of records for $5800. Not exactly a steal but I thought it was worth it. I've been absolutely loving it.

The earliest sw20 turbos made in early 1990 (mine is from February 1990) didn't all get fogs. It wasn't until later that they all did.
So it isn't necessarily the "NA bumper" it's the no-fogs bumper. But they're only $150 or so and the bumper has spaces that are marked where to cut so you can add them, and they have the space for the relay too so you just have to wire up a switch

I hear this all the time and it's not true at all. The power from the turbo isn't unpredictable, it's an old mechanical turbo and you can feel and control the boost with the throttle. It doesn't hit you like a brick wall and then you die... it's a solid car, with a stronger engine and transmission, bigger brakes, possibly fogs, better looking engine cover, turbo badge

You aren't going to want to turbo a 5SFE.. if you want to do a 3SGTE + E153 swap it wouldn't be cheap, plus you wouldn't even have the big turbo brakes.
You don't NEED the turbo, if you want a reliable, what's essentially a mid-engine camry on a better suspension with two seats

It's not so much that I'm not good at working with cars as it is that I'm not familiar with modding them. I've done things like replacing my own brakes, replacing the clutch+flywheel, disassembling and fixing a carburetor, and self-manufacturing and installing a clutch pedal spring bushing, so I'm not afraid of having to do work and see this type of thing as more of a trial by fire, but I'll admit that I don't really know what I'm dealing with here and that working with a heavily modded car is a hell of a lot different than working with stock.
At this point, I don't really need a daily driver and am mostly looking for a car to drive for fun, so I'm just looking for something within my price range that's got power and enough flair that I can get heavily attached to the car. Not saying this car is the one, I'm just wanting to know what the hell I'm looking at.
