I have an opportunity to buy a 2002 grand prix for 200$ will a blown motor. Body is in good shape but it needs and engine obviously. Have any of you guys ever swapped a 3800? I think it might be an interesting project if I could get it all put together and not even spend $1000.
What do you guys think?

Exactly, I mean I could probably almost get that much for in scrap but the owner is tired of it sitting around and would rather see it sold to someone than scrap it.
3800s are a dime a dozen. I've seen them for as low as 50 bucks. But do you really wanna struggle with an engine swap?
Get the drivetrain from an F-body and make it RWD.

The w-body is a FWD chassis and there's quite a bit of fab work to make it RWD. honestly OP'd be better off just scrapping this and getting a RWD car if he wants a RWD car.
In my opinion, I'd say get a supercharged series 2, those things can make pretty good power with a build, and are pretry reliable when stock. I would also HIGHLY recommend to build the trans, ESPECIALLY if you're building the engine. And it's possible to swap in a manual, but the amount of fabrication work is pretty crazy and you'd have to have a custom CV drives haft made for one side, I forget which.
