Probably junk by now, the automatic transmissions in them are garbage.
the grand cherokee interiors are pretty decent and they do work well offroad and in the snow.
i say all this at the same time im going to possibly buy a 93 XJ this weekend, dude only wants $500 so if it makes it back to my house i'll buy it.

I have seen some ZJ's still around where I live. I don't have an opinion of them, because I hadn't had the chance to own one. OP. have you tried getting a WJ? those motherfuckers are so reliable I have one with 160,000 miles and still going strong, plus the fact that they're are more common here. Everytime I see them around, I'm grateful they are still parts driving down the road.

I've got two XJ's, one with 305k and the other with 200k.
my sis had a 98 zj
it ran well for a couple months
until it developed the "death wobble"
shortly after, the a/c stopped working and the transmission shit itself (no reverse)
The only plus I can give is to the engine. It never gave us a serious problem other than a deteriorated valve cover gasket.
