My problem is initiating the learning process. Every time I want to go outside and delve into the engine, I find an excuse not to.

Engines are the easy part, its the vacuum lines and sensors that make me REEEEEEEE

Get a manual for the relevant car, some basic tools and a torque wrench

I'm more than happy to bring a complete drivetrain to it's constituent pieces bolt by bolt, but the moment it's something to do with electricals I nope the fuck out.
