My friend asked me to install his new stereo system in his Supra and gave me money to buy all the parts needed.
Only got the speakers done today, I'll do the amps and sub and wiring tomorrow.
These are the speaker brackets I made, I'm not going to show him the pics until after hes had his car back for a few days (they won't be seen with the door skins on).
3M double sided tape and....
....zip ties going through the door to make sure the crossovers aren't going anywhere.
I'm satisfied with the install so far, I hope he gets a laugh out of it later or else the brackets might have to come out and get painted a plain colour.

Not much option, its the only place it fits behind the door skin. Its very secure and isn't going anywhere and its out of sight.
The car is very rough (paint and interior but drive line is 100%), not trying to win any audio install awards.

I got a 6.5" speaker but my car only fits 6", what spacer would I need to fit it in? I'm a little confused

Make a ring out of mdf to space the speaker away from the mounting surface a bit, the taper of the speaker will allow it to fit in the hole
