Anyone have any experience owning a Saab nowadays. I'm thinking of purchasing one, but I don't know about those parts and repair costs
don't
They're a car for the intellectual.
Which sadly means a car for keks that don't do their own car repair.
Since keking is for the intellectual.
Albeit, get one. They're pretty cool. I just wouldn't find it fun to work on.

Be more specific, which saab are you looking at
They are honestly built really well. Parts can be found at autozone easily. The only issue is that they use special torx nuts and bolts on everything.
Doing a simple repair will have you running back and forth hunting special tools and special parts, kinda aggravating.

Does this apply to "GM Saabs"?

most any.

They're fun, but I wouldn't really recommend it
I have a 9-5 and the immobilizer ring is bad, so the car randomly refuses to start for no apparant reason, and a replacement ring is £400 + specialist electronic labour to get it properly synced up. From what I've read, that ring goes bad easy as fuck

Get a volvo instead if you wanna be a hipster
as long as it's GM free it's good
Avoid the GM era Sabbs like the plague

Know the thing about Saab owners?
> They all sob.
