Back in the old days, Finland had Fords from UK and Germany both. When considering regular Fords, the German ones were better by a country mile. Off course Britain had the AVO-cars and Cosworths, but outside of that, crap.

Ford subcontracted the GT40 to another manufacturer. The design was done by Eric Broadley, and most of the cars were built in the UK. So, basically British.

If those BDAs sound familiar to the younger guys, there is a reason. Toyota´s 4AGE could be considered a "tribute"-engine to the BDA(to a degree of an lawsuit if I remember right). Yep, AE86 was the Escort of Japan about decade and a half after the real deal.
