Is there really any alternative to the Miata? For the roadster that it is, it seems like there isn't anything like it in terms of price, looks, and driving feel. Are there any roadsters that come close or should I just buy one already?

Closest you get for cheap is a beat up old Spitfire. If you have a decent budget you can get an S2000, Kappa, MR-S or Z3. The Miata is the most Miata-ish of the bunch, though.

Wat? They're effectively the same car underneath. Any Miata is good for 300,000+ miles assuming it's maintained at all. If you're looking for a toy to cruise around in on the weekends, go with the NB. It's the better car in general. If you're looking to go as fast as possible for as cheap as possible, get an NA. Cheaper cars, less to rip out, and lighter in general.
