Getting ready to head from the east coast over to the west coast (leaving tomorrow), but not exactly sure which way I'm going to go.
Anyone else doing a lot of driving/riding this holiday season/winter?

I'm not going to take that route though, I took I-80 in April from CA to RI and got stuck in a blizzard in Wyoming, so if spring was that bad, winter must be a shit show.

Because I was in RI from April to December and didn't want to have a rental the whole time. Stopped and saw a lot of things/friends/family on the way across. Plan on doing similar on the way back too.

It definitely wasn't fun. Got a little squirrely once while switching lanes but didn't have any other problems.
Had to get a hotel after sitting in one spot for 4 hours, then the next day there was a 70ish car pile up. We sat for at least an hour and a half before they let us turn around and drive the wrong way on the highway to the last exit.
Thinking I-40 isn't too bad this time of year. Hate to drive too far south though since it just adds more time/mileage.

Pull off to the side, break out the deck of cards and the cooler full of beverages. You should have sleeping bags so worst case you can spend the night snuggling in the car, just make sure to say no homo first.

When I said "we" earlier, I meant myself and the other cars. It was a solo trip with my car filled with stuff that I would need/want to use over the course of the rest of the year. I pretty much just ate snacks and fucked around on my phone.

The only reason I did it/am doing it is because of work. That's why I stopped to see people and places along the way, so it wasn't just back to back days of driving.

Just you, your car, the road, and nature. And maybe a prostitute or two, for some comfort.
