I need a new car to be able to drive for uber, but my budget is $10k and it would be my car for everything. Anyone drive for uber? What kind of cars do you drive for it?

If you like taking it up the ass and want your passengers to know you'll take hard dick as payment you could drive one of these
>>
>>14018517
Yeah, because certainly theres nothing in between.

People drive uber to make extra money, you are just a numbskull if you drive a v8 gashog for that. You dont get paid extra for showing up in a v8.

But if you like eating into your own livelihood just to show everyone what a big straight man you are, feel free you closet faggot
>>
OP here, does this look like a good car for uber driving? Would you say it seats 4 comfortably?

Pfft, I was just pretending to be retarded.

How about a serious suggestion, whatever year accord.

Although, I don't know why you'd want to work for a company which leaves all expenses to it's employees, and at the same time DD'ing the same car you use for uber.

this.

you would have to be a special kind of retard to want to work for uber, let alone purchase a vehicle for that sole purpose.

However, accord is probably the best option
>>
Uberman picked me up today in a Ford Focus, maybe 4-5 years old... wasn't too bad. Maybe could get something with a bit more space but overall the car was nice. Might fall in that price range, not sure what those go for but new I think they are under 20k so probably that guys car was worth 10 or so..
>>
>>14018452
You can get like a 2009 Camry Hybrid. It won't be a blast to drive, but Toyota's Hybrid system is extremely reliable (The Avalon Hybrid topped this year's worry-free index of Cars.com) and it gets great gas mileage if you are driving it for a living. There really is not a better option.

I have 2011 galant and I like it a lot it is close to a full size sedan and gets good mpgs and reliable. Not a lot of them were sold because they are not anything special but ride really good and around 20.5 mpg driving regular 17-18 driving like a dick in the city 30 highway.
Got mine for 10k

You can't use your normal insurance if you pick people up for a living. If you have an accident with a passenger in the car and your insurance finds out, they will deny your claim.

Food for thought.

how is it any different than having a friend in the car?

That's what I was partially thinking when I bought my P71. Turns out there is a cosmetic inspection so all the dings and holes, and horn/rear door functionality fail a typical patrol car. Much simpler to buy a town car if going the Panther route.
>>
>>14020409
Shit. So giving people 10 rides a day for 6 days is good enough to make 50k? That doesn't sound too bad, does it?
>>
>>14020606
That's what I was thinking, but then you have the insurance/gas/maintenance cost. So that would pump up the figure to 15 people a day. If you live in a big city that shouldn't be too bad. I wonder if it would be doable during the day, I wouldn't want to contend with the night life people.
>>
>>14020606
you have to figure in the costs and even worse is the increased chance of an accident just by virtue of being on the road longer
>>
>>14020591
If the insurance finds out, they'll basically drop your coverage. Something to do with being a taxi and not having commercial insurance

I dunno about 'Murica but in Canadaland you need a commercial insurance policy if your using a personal vehicle for a business ie Ride Sharing, Delivering Pizzas, etc, which is $5000+ a year. Get in an accident without that and you'll get your ass sued off.

Also, Enjoy your glazed cylinders.
>>
I just started doing lyft, during the day. I do around 4 hours a day and make around 20 an hour, which is fine for me. I was making that much full time in shitty warehouse jobs.
Weekends i work at a restaurant too.
But anyway, if you live in a big city it's actually fun during day time hours because no one's drunk and you feel safer. And lyft has an insurance policy that covers you if you're in an accident with a passenger.
You can make a shitload of cash in a week with this, idk about uber but lyft has a prime time when demand is high and you can get up to double money for rides. Plus tips.
I'm in Los Angeles. I haven't done nights yet, but anyone have any tips with dealing for drunks? I wanna make some extra christmas money.
>>
>>14020913
I started working with a regular cab company on nights. The trick with drunks is staying calm yet firm. Remember that their impulse control is poor so shouting will just make them mad. You can always refuse a fare if they feel dangerous or like a "bad idea".

Keep your cash somewhere not obvious and keep it in two places just in case you get robbed. It's not likely but it can happen. A dash cam pointing in to the car and at the back seat with a nice blinking light will help deter this. It also helps deter attackers as they're on camera. Let them know the camera is there when they get in and start recording so you can catch their consent to be recorded when they come in.

Mace is your friend. Keep some under the seat or in the glovebox (where they probably think you have the money).
>>
>>14018505
Uber doesn't care about your cylinders or gas mileage. They only care about modernity and comfort.

>>
>>14020943
What's a good 720p dashcam that loops /o/?
>>
>>14020591
Its considered commercial use and it requires to have a whole different tier of insurance THAT COSTS FUCKING TONS. Pizza drivers need it, too, but we never get it. Co-worker got into an accident and being the honest ignorant person he was said he was on the job and he had to front 1500 for repairs on his own because his insurance denied coverage, so they went through the other persons insurance and they forwarded that over to debt collectors.

It's like fucking quadruple the normal insurance for business insurance. You can deduct that from taxes but only if you're actually able to beat the minimum amount of deductions in order to get money back, which you won't. I tried to claim all of my vehicle expenses and gas and still wasn't able to break that number.

It's something like 5800 if your only income is uber/pizza delivery. FOOD FOR THOUGHT.

I bought this, it's great. Low light visibility is pretty poor but I mostly have it for accountability, it doesn't need to be super high def night vision, it just has to show what actually occurred. It cant read license plates, either, so you gotta say them out if you want to remember one.

Prove it is boarder line illegal.

Also, my father does Uber part time and makes nearly $150-$200 a day within just four hours. The only thing I'd say he has the advantage over most Uber drivers is that he lives in the middle of wine country and gets both rich fucks and ladies of the night all the time.
