C3 Corvettes got worse in both performance and looks the longer they were produced. I'd start looking for a pre-smog one.

There's an anon here with a 84 here, he put new exhaust with headers, intake and rocker rollers ( I think 1.6) he posted his dyno sheet and it was around 260whp and 340TQ. I wouldn't worry about the stock horsepower. They seem like fun cars. Hopefully he'll post in here

This is a good deal OP. C3s and C4s are gonna start rising in price soon, they're just reaching that 'classick kar' age and they look sweet. I'd go for it, just make sure you pay special attention to the brakes and steering linkages.

Actually the later C3s are the best in terms of weight and aerodynamics. They're also better built and more street friendly. The engines are the basically the same ones that were produced in 1970 just with lower compression and smog equipment. Heads, cam, intake, and exhaust off of Craigslist or a swap meet and you're well over 300bhp.

Hey op have a 84, full exhaust with LT Headers, xpipe, intake, crane cam, rr 1.6 cars at 363lb and 281whp. I got the car from a guy who didn't know what was wrong with it and I ended paying $2500 for it. The racking pinon ended up being shot and it was a $250 replacement and about 6hours to replace. Car handles amazingly and everyone loves the removable top. If you really need the extra horsepower get a LT-1 you can find em for around $5000-$7k.

Vaccuum lines, the fiberglass will spiderweb if you take a turn too fast

7500 with all that shit done to it means there is either better C3s in your area and he is just trying to get rid of it or its fucked somehow and he did a good job of hiding it

also its a spring clutch so prepare to stall it like a tool if you have never driven a carburated engine
