Hey /o/ what are your thoughts on the Dodge Hellcat lineup? Are they worth?
Would love to own one, they're no canyon carver but undoubtedly a lot of fun.
just the engine itself 2bh
you could prob buy a restoration body like an old cuda and drop a hellcat engine for less than a 2015 model because of thhat dealership mark up

I think they will make interesting engine swaps when someone with more money than sense decides to get curious.
>mfw someday there will be a hellcat nd miata
>>14008675
Was thinking about getting a hellcat engine and putting it in an old SRT
>>14008683
>tfw no srt magnum
that shit would be cool as a cucumber.
>>14008706
My mom used to drive one of these. She bought it because hurr durr hemi.
It was a pigfat shitbox.

The only one that actually makes any sense is the future jeep hellcat.
The challenger is already too pigfat, it needs all that extra engine cost put into lighter parts to make it actually nice to drive
The charger is a big floppy sedan, it doesn't need any more power than the normal 6.4L from the factory
Meanwhile, the jeep SRT8 is already a massive, pigfat beast you only buy because you're stupid and freely admit it (hence why they're selling so well), throwing a 700hp engine in it would only make it even more ridiculous and thus sell even better.
>>14008714
Well fuck you too
>>14008717
But the Charger and Challenger are the same platform and perform almost identically. They're also entirely unapologetic about what they are so the Hellcat really fits them as well.
>>14008714
imagine one with a hellcat. I can only get so hard
I'm more excited for the Challenger GT concept.
>Dodge Challenger body
>AWD and 5.7 from police charger
>8 speed transmission from a 300
>scat pack 3 package giving it over 450hp
>>14008736
Yeah you could probably go in a straight line real nice.
The problem I see with the Hellcat is that it's extremely fast in a straight line in terms of numbers, but the near-landbarge size will make you feel not-so-fast, in the same way going 50 in a Miata feels twice as fast as going 50 in a truck. You can't really have fun in the corners either because lolcantturn etc etc.
Looks pretty fucking cool though.

the handling can be worked out. they are on an E class chassis after all.
>>14008736
>Dogdish style hubcaps
>white letter tires
basically my fetish
>>14008778
Lol
No matter what you do to that sailboats suspension it's still only gonna handle as well as a base mustang at best.
If you wanna go for a nice cruise in the Atlantic itd be nice. lawl.
>>14008733
Yes, but they both have the potential to be better.
Imagine if all the extra money the hellcat costs went into lighter panels, interior and higher quality suspension parts and tuning done by non-retards.
You could then buy it and do intake/exhaust/cam and have something truly good.
Meanwhile we all know the jeep is a lost cause for anything performance oriented anyway, you only buy it because it sounds like somebody opened the gates of hell and because it's completely ridiculous/insane. Giving it a 700hp supercharged 6.4L only increases both of these qualities.

But why make every car the same? The challenger and charger are the last real muscle cars since they're so large. They know it and genreally just don't seem to care about benchracing. Theyre just for fun and cruising.
