The Merc on the left is sitting at very close to 236 000 miles/380 000km, and still hasn't given any sign of wanting to give up. All it currently needs engine-wise is to have whatever controls the cold-start RPM fixed as you have to keep on the throttle to keep it from dying when cold

Yep all numbers matching. The worst that's been done was a trans rebuild about 250-275k miles ago. My grandfather babied it since he got with 50K on the clock and he handed it down to me when he got a new one. When the engine crops out I wanna build a junkyard turbo 6.0 LS for it

My Accord is just short of 435K, though only about 30K of them are from me. The last mechanic I took it to doesn't think the engine has ever been out of the car.
>>
>>14010924

Usually crate engines will have a stamp somewhere that tells you so. It's different on all vehicles, I don't know if Honda has a marking they use on engines that are put into vehicles AFTER manufacture.

That being said, there's always the possibility that someone put a second-hand engine in it, from a junkyard. If it's a reclaimed original engine, it won't be marked.

What year is your Accord? I'm surprised the exhaust system hasn't rotted out yet, the older (~2000ish) were notorious for eating catalytic converters.

The body and interior beaten and bruised but it fires up everytime. LA small blocks and the slant 6 were bulletproof designs. Hell even the RB big blocks that weren't HP high comp engines see 200k before a rebuild and that's having ran shitty oil for decades.

Hmm, I guess just see if the engine is in good condition. Mine is B3 and the problems I have is AC only works in the 4th "gear" (?) The sunroof is stuck and leaks little a bit, and the interior is slowly falling apart like the headlining started coming off and the front passenger seat is rocking to the sides. The B3 is not galvanized so the rear right passenger doorstep rusted completely and fell apart a bit, there's a potato-sized hole in it. Other than that just general rust and the engine is really weak. Also audio is a bit shit and there's no space in doors to put bigger speakers in. It's really comfortable though. This is the only picture of it I have on this computer.

'89. Exhaust leaks but I don't know how bad it is. I doubt the car has ever seen snow, so there's that.

It belonged to a relative before I drove it. I think it was between 100k and 200k when he got it. It was used for a weekly interstate commute of about 300 miles each way, plus in-town driving, for many years. He loved it for that because it sips gas at highway speeds (tall gears).

I doubt he'd have bothered to have the engine replaced if it took a shit. The thing had original plug wires until 2010, when the humidity of a rainy day caused them to fail.

You know, as much as I hate the 2.9s for how piss weak they are, I don't think I've ever had problems with the engine itself. Now, window motors, brake boosters, fuel pumps and those shitty aod/Mitsubishi 5 speed... I love you boxy ranger/bronco but cmon

great truck. First car but they stole it and never got it back.

Yeah that transmition for those Chevy trucks really let it down that and some of the rubber components are made with inferior material so they leak. I know my truck I changed the gaskets and also changed some tube for my gas line. Not sure which one.

Also was planning to spruce up my transmition see if I can stop the leaking but it was stolen. Had about 235,XXX.

Been fixing up a 96 Legacy that has 209k miles on it. Thing starts up every time and runs great. Fucking leaks everywhere though and the body looks like it was driven by Stevie Wonder.

Fuck. My 02 would have had 200k, but it had those Castech heads. They crapped out around 193k. The original short block is still going strong with the new heads.

Getting up in to the 210,000 range with the Vulcan 3l in my Taurus. Still gets 20mpg and makes enough power to get on the freeway. I'll I've had to do is basic maintenance along with a timing belt and fuel pump (that were literally done 30k miles after the recommended service intervals).
Ford made some pretty good shitboxes with the Taurus. Or, as it's known in England: The Jaguar "Type S" 3.0

Currently at 450,000 kilometers on my B230F.

Thing sounds like shit but just keeps trucking.

Shit, I've got 550k on a 3800 series II. Worst thing I had to do was have the head machined because of a burned valve on number five. Cost me 500$.

Just recently kicked over 335,000. The engine still runs great but I'm making a list of other shit it needs.
