Ever since i was a fucking baby. Seriously. Everybody was with sports, i was with cars, i was an autistic car lover. Went to find out about Operation Flashpoint and then stuck with the military shit, pausing my car love for some time. Then i reinstalled Street Legal Racing Redline and i found out one of the only things in life that would make me happy is to understand in a detailed way every little piece of logic and physic that makes the car work the way it works. I dont regret anything

It all started as a kid, id go over to my dads parents house and play with either their or my uncles toy cars. I also collected alot of hot wheels as most kids do. Then my interest in cars went dormant until either my sophomore or junior year of high school, i fell in love with the 4th gen pontiac firebird, then probably in my junior year i was with 2 friends who talked about cars, so they fanned the flames. Eventually after being on 4chan for a while i found /o/ and fell in love with the miata.

He was doing about 70mph coming home from work, gave it too much throttle around a corner im assuming being a dick head and put it into a tree backward, completely totalled the car, it still drove but it fucked everything up to the front quarter panels on the frame, all the sides were sucked in, front seats all ended up in the back.
The only good news about it is the car ended up being cut in half and the front end of it is now rolling around on a white HK mock up which is nice... at least it got half of a second chance at life...

I had lots of Hot Wheels as a kid and played the original NFS games as well as a bit of mechanical inclination. As I grew up I started to learn about what made these cars cool, and then what made them work and why, and now I'm a car nerd who remembers pages of trivia about Japanese shitboxes with pop-up headlights and has never had a girlfriend.

I've always been interested in cars... to some degree.
When I was a toddler, my parents hated taking me to the mall. Why? Because I wouldn't stay in my stroller. I had to get out and watch the wheels of the stroller turn... whether it was my stroller or someone elses.
When I was 4, exactly 2 days after my grandfather died, my grandmother shoved me on the couch and popped in Disney's 1969 movie "The Love Bug" hoping the TV would babysit me while the rest of the family made funeral arrangements. It was the first time anyone had gotten me to sit still long enough to watch TV.
The movie opened the floodgates and soon VW beetles were all I could talk about. A love of cars ran in the family on my father's side so he was ecstatic I liked cars, if not somewhat upset that I liked import cars. Soon, going to classic VW car shows and Monster truck events like Monster Jam became a regular thing. Along with helping my dad repair or maintain his Ford Ranger truck. Said truck broke down all the time. I remember specifically we had to go to 4 different stores for hard brake lines because the truck used different fittings at each end.

Nobody in my family was ever a car guy but as early as I can remember I was playing with toy cars and car card games and Gran Turismo.
PS2 w/ GT3 A-SPEC bundle. I learned so much.
Then there was Midnight Club 2. So much fun.
A few years later I got an XBox from someone with Sega GT 2002. Then there was GT4. Then... I got my license and started racing the first week, both legally and not so... So I haven't really been into games or movies since.

My dad was a Chrysler/Mopar/DSM mechanic so I'd see performance cars all the time either at his shop or at home. He also took me to the illegal drag races when I was a kid and I'll never forget seeing some of the cars he worked on tearing up Tupelo Ave. In New Orleans. Long ago when I was a child, my dad and uncles would hang out in front of the house and work on their cars while drinking budwieser and eating pizza or whatever.
the first muscle car i got drove around in was my uncles 69 charger it had no interior but a couple of milk crates bolted where the seat was supposed to be.
at the same time a guy that would marry my cousin one day had a 67 mustang GT500. that car was clean and well put together. he got a hold of it because some guy didn't return from vietnam and it sat in the grass for some time.
Grew up playing a few racing games like burnout and nfs. Then my grandad showed me his car, an MGB that he had restored and Mercedes. We went to his friends house and he showed me his v12 aston. I was like 11 or 12 at the time but it was the coolest thing seeing them. I have no idea how it really started but i went through the casual know every super car phase and then it branched out to more affordable cars and i just kept on aquiring all this KNOWLEDGE. One of my last conversations with my grandad was how he went and drove his friend's maserati and aston. When he passed a few years ago i just kind of got fully consumed in automotive culture i guess to just continue on with the passion that my grandad had for cars. I wish i had him to talk to about cars. No one else in my family really shares that passion at the intensity that he did. I keep his funeral booklet in my glove box at all times.

I grew up as a loner, but not because I was weird or some shit, but because I could fumble through my thoughts all day and not find one interesting thing to say to anybody. I had a nice ass shoe collection and every hypebeast/shoe enthusiast would come up to me and say something like "aye yo those are fresh af. How much you copped those for?" and some of the popular kids chilled and smoked with me so I know I wasn't a greasy no-life nigga that everyone disliked. They asked me what my dream car was etc and I said some bs about an r34 with a quad turbo setup (because more turbo=better, obviously). They didn't notice anything but I decided to go home and spend the rest of my weekend on wikipedia'ing shit just so I could talk about it. It's always been there, I've always had Hot Wheels and toy cars. Living in California there are lots of supercars and car shows around. It grew a lot when I first got this game >>14006348 and grew some more when I went to my first Le Mans series race, then again after finding out about group B rallying. My dad used to own a Fiat 124, Triumph TR6, air-cooled Porsche 911, but wasn't really into cars besides station wagons since I was born. He would happily take me to car shows and stuff, although once I turned 16 there was a strict front-wheel-drive NA only policy haha... then grew when I got my license and bought a Civic EK. Carless at the moment but might have a job at a tuning shop here soon.
