The S trim is the most comfortable sub-compact I've driven. And I've driven many sub-compact cars while traveling for work.

The Corolla has one of the highest fuel economies in its class, and even offers an eco model.

>
kek but only after all the recalls and TSBs are performed, and then it's perfectly reliable until the next round of recalls and TSBs
No recalls on my Corolla yet, while my mother's Civic from the same year has been recalled twice.

Anything else? As a happy Corolla owner I have no problem setting the record straight.

100% opinion. I think the current S trim Corolla is the best looking Corolla they've made. But I do agree on some models like the Rav 4 and the base trim Camry.

>Toyota got fucking complacent over last decade
I don't think it's complacency. I feel like they're dumping their "exciting" ideas into Scion, and keeping the Toyota brand family friendly and some would say, boring.

The Corolla has the oldest, least efficient engine ranges with several much newer, higher powered engines beating it in fuel efficiency.

>As a happy Corolla owner I have no problem setting the record straight.
The record for Toyota's careless fuckups is already cemented. There is nothing you can do to hide it, and there's nothing I can say to make it worse. Toyota is very much a cult-psychology brand and replies like yours only inadvertently reassure us that it's still very much the case.

>Whats the best daily driver you've ever had?

99 Cadillac Eldorado ETC

Extremely comfortable and the interior layout has so many compartments to put your things. Everything in that car is perfectly placed.

>Overhead compartment for sunglasses and insurance card.

>Flip down cup holder in front of console for phone, house keys, gum or other small items.

>Large door pockets for papers, CDs, flashlights or whatever else.

>Large seat pockets for papers, notebooks, tablets, laptops.

>Recessed door compartment for smokes/lighter/gum or anything small.

>Locking center console big enough for three handguns

>Massive trunk

>Glovebox is absurdly small though lol

Everything in that car is just placed perfectly. It's perfect for long trips and anyone who spends a decent amount of time in their car. Every other car I've owned has felt so inadequate in terms of functional interior design. That's not to say the Eldo has the "nicest" interior, but it's incredibly well designed and layed out. Anything I'd ever need while driving was always just a reach away and I never had to take my eyes off the road to get to it, whereas most other interiors will leave you digging around or pulling over to find your shit.

1/2
>>
>>14001529
2/2

>Comfort
8-9/10 The ride on the ETC isn't as forgiving as a base Eldo, but still very smooth and the seats are top notch on long drives. Not tight like a racecar, but sporty and supportive enough to keep you in place while still being comfortable like a Cadillac should.

>economy
Meh... Not very good. I think advertised was 18-24, but in real world conditions I got 16 city but could average 26+ highway if I kept my foot out of it.

>reliability
Remarkably reliable. These cars have a bad rep for headgaskets but I drove mine 200k without an issue. Even in the event of HG failure a stud kit is a great solution that will ensure you'll never have an issue again. I do think build quality on 99 and older cars was better than 00+. in 00 they moved manufacturing from Hamtramck to Lansing and I owned an 02 for a while and it was riddled with minor issues that I never dealt with on either of my 99s.

2010 Mazda Miata

Job requires me to drive around the continental US. Little guy allows me to have fun doing so. Winter in New Hampshire was hell until I put some winter tires on it.

As for fuel economy, 25/30 smiles per gallon. Trunk space doesn't matter to me much, as all I have is a computer toolbag and a laptop most of the time.

Full coilovers and adjustable suspension for long trips or a nice Sunday ride.

Besides routine maintenance, I do all the work myself. Once crashed it into a snowbank, replaced the radiator and front fascia, and all was good.

Couldn't ask for a better car for my desires, going to drive it into the ground, then going to get the newest model.

The difference in base price between the E46 and E39 is quite obvious. The E39 cost about $15-20k more than the E46 new, and it shows. The only time I would suggest an E46 over an E39 is if you're planning on taking it to a track. If not, E39 all the way.

>>
>>14000644

My 2015 Silverado has surprised the shit out of me. I avoided buying a truck forever and spent most of my life in muscle cars but a couple of years ago I bought a 2014 Mustang GT and hated every moment I had to spend in it. That car just did not work for me so I traded it back in June for a big, comfortable, LTZ and I'll never go back.

Granted reliability isn't something I can speak to yet because I've only had it 6 months give or take (6 carefree months but that should be a given) but it's crazy comfortable and the mpg is amazing to me. Last time I was around trucks they were going through gas like it was 99 cents a gallon (which it was). This truck gets over 20mpg in the city which probably doesn't impress anyone in here but I'm pretty happy with it. The Mustang was going through premium unleaded way faster and now I can buy cheaper gas and get more out of it.

If those are the criteria you're using, a 1999 Rover 45 1.4. Never let me down, great on fuel as you'd expect from such a small engine and, between the 75 seats they put in them and a far better ride than a rebodied Eg Civic has any right to, a surprising degree if comfort.

Thing was just a bit gutless and not a lot of fun to push hard.

>>14000644
Of the three daily drivers I've had none was better at all three criteria than the others.

> Comfort
It's close but that goes to my Subaru Outback. My Mazda 6 has slightly comfier seats. However better highway ride, the heated seats, heated mirrors, and remote start made the Outback a more overall comfier daily driver.

> Economy
Hands down the Ford Escort. The Subaru did terrible, and the Mazda isn't particularly great either.

> Reliability
So far the Mazda 6 has been the most reliable. Subaru stranded me several times. The Escort never had an issue until the engine blew.
