I want an 1.8mm audio jack that can plug into my MP3 player into, and listen to my own music while driving.
Surely there's a better way to do that than buying an aftermarket radio isn't there?

Did you try putting one of the cord into your urethra?

There is a way of disassembling the OEM radio and soldering an AUX connector or Bluetooth adapter in place of the CD player or tape player wires, but if you're asking like that you probably don't posess the knowledge to find it.

if you had the option of a cd changer you can get a kit that converts it to aux input, related let's you charge and change tracks, but there are simpler kits that are just a audio jack

I used the factory radio in my q45 by making a DIN5-RCA adapter.

What I use, audio quality comes in great. I use an extra amp though between them so I don't pick up static or electrical noise.

Tap into the audio off the cd drive if equipped. then just burn a silent cd.
If you're radio wasnt made by idiots, the ribbon cable should be labeled whats what, otherwise, multimeter and trial/error, then just solder some wires to a convenient spot just past or on the ribbon connector and wire in a jack.
Some cut audio if the cd skips though, which is annoying when off-roading...

is a bretty gud option, only takes a few hours to install, and will sound way better than your stock system, but will be most expensive choice.
