I love my gen coupe, best car I've owned. That's not saying much though other cars were a 2011 lancer, 1996 Chevy blazer and a 2003 neon

Contrary to 4chan will tell you.

They have made it to the playing circle.

They aren't the best at anything, but they aren't the worst either.

They have engineering quality above that of the american brands but lower then the japanese brands.

Their trim and interior quality on base cars are equal to japenese but lower then the germans.

Their performance are all over the place, with their lower price cars exceeding the other cars on the market, and their mid range cars middling or equal with their high range cars lack luster in power.

In general

They have flung themselves into the middle of that pack and trying to claw themselves away from their older reputation of poor quality cheap cars. (which the poor quality cheap cars was a smart way to drag themselves into the market)

You lost your god damn mind, compare Genesis to the CTSV

You're comparing kias to a ctsv and trying to say they're shit

I got myself a velosturd tarbo after graduating, and so far I like it a lot. Its a good DD and somewhat enjoyable to drive, although it lacks in some areas. It is not the best but it isn't the worst since my last car was a piece of shit ferd 150
>>
>>13990241
One good car? Any straight comparison you can find multiple examples of better American cars. If their top of the line cant beat the top of the line American car, and the rest of the lineup is budget chinkshit for the most part, what exactly are they better at?
>>13990260
Well Hyundai wants to be a luxury brand. Once again they cant compete with Cadillac, an American brand that should be comparable. Hell they cant compete with Fords lineup. Focus>>>>>>>veloster Mustang>>>>>Genesis coupe

Mustang > m3 > kia/hyundai

Korean cars have always been about the same as japanese cars rly.

You are fucking retarded.

You have to compare compatible cars.

And in the price ranges kia/hyundai dominates the American brand in the 15-25k range.

Only when american companies go to their top trim cars do they Excell.

It's like saying dodge has good quality cause the viper and hellcats are good. But you look at the rest of the brand and the quality is subpar compared to the Japanese and even koreans now.

They made it around 2010, and have been making it ever since.

They still need to pin down steering and suspension balance in transition (on every single car they sell), and they have always lagged behind just a little in MPG. But those are really "so what" issues when compared to the base model volume crap that dominates the market today, from all manufacturers.

They made it. They're real a real car company now. Less of a joke, at least, then FCA.

>Don't offer a Viper competitor
>No 700hp shitbox cruiser

>Only 1 luxobarge worth a shit
>Entire gimmick is "we're not Japanese, please buy"

FCA is slightly less shit than Hyundai-"Everything we have, we owe to Shitsubishi"-Kia

like others have said, not the king of the crop but definitely not total shit and still damn good for the price
>>

FCA does have a handful of real, interesting, and fun, but ultimately low volume products. Literally less than 10000 hellcat engines are going to be built this year, and fewer than 700 new Vipers have hit the streets. That many non-hellcat Chargers can drive off the lot in one good month.

The face of FCA in the US today is "quirky" shitty Fiat 500's, Darts and 200's at the rental counter and BHPH lot, and 2wd 5-speed Jeep Liberties being humped out the dealership door on a carpet of rebates for under $12,000, a price where it competes with the Chevy Spark. The sole point of light is their big popular RWD cars, which have never overcome their initial reliability woes, despite FCA having plenty of time to correct them.

All their popular platforms and engines are ancient, they have no significantly updated mainstream products in the pipeline, reliability scores are actually getting WORSE despite neverending production of fundamentally unchanged core products. They're desperately and publicly searching for someone to merge with and solve all their problems.

FCA has become a joke. They're not going out of business any time soon, but we're all kind of snickering about them behind our hands.

So are many KIA's and Hyundai's though.

Yup and when you compare then the kia and hyundai have better rental tier cars then the American brands
>>
>>13991242

201 hp compact that literally right on the heels of the gti and focus st.

No real compact
>>
>>13991530
>>13991505
I don't think it's even relevant if the pro ceed GT is a "true" sport compact or not (I come down on the "not" side because lolcantturn, but A for effort).

A lot of car companies that have definitely "made it" don't have a "true" sport compact, or have had one only rarely.
>>
>>13991591

Thats coming in the next generation, considering they put the guy who was incharge of M division at bmw to handle performance and handling at kia/hyundai.

As a poorfag looking to get a car under 4k or so, is the Hyundai Tiburon worth a damn? Looking at an 03.

>>13991616
I've heard some version of this story before many times, with different company names substituted.

I'll believe it when I see it.
>>
>>13991635
Not the best option. Most tiburons have old-hyundai reliability.

Scion TC's depreciated like mad, though, you might have better luck on that end.
>>
>>13991640
Was also looking at tc, possibly 06 for my price range. Only thing i can't get over is tc being called a chick's car
