Who here does the 24 hrs? Anyone go to Sonoma today?

Fuck, it was today?
I used to love 24 hours of lemons back when it was essentially shitbox racing, but then it just became "who can build the most outlandish vehicle" for LOL 500 bucks
I'll post a few pics from last year

Jesus fuck that was the worst few days of my life.
I regret towing that shitbox up there.
>Throwback to first WAT lemons

Even worse that Top Kek US was there today and entered a car.
yes, I too was there that day
many a meme was had that day
literally reddit the race.
>Want to do 24 hrs of Lemons
>No friends to help fund or be codrivers
Ghey

I'm starting to think that there's one guy who just posts "literally reddit" in every fucking thread.
i like the "idea" of cheap racing, but this is just an excuse to act autistic and spout memes.
I dunno man, on the one hand its cool theyre all out and having fun, on the other hand you guys just seem like a bunch of retards.

It really isn't that cheap though. Their requirements put you at any entry level armature event for stock classes. And your car doesn't break down 6 times a day at those.

Chumpcar is more serious than 24 hours of lemons and focuses more on racing then having a meme car.

True, but what's the alternative and where do you draw the line on safety? Especially in CA where anyone could get a beater for $500 and race. In theory, that's awesome! In practice (no rollbars, and the potential for people to be doing this with cars from the pre-airbag/crumple zone era, combined people with minimal driving experience), people would get killed.

The alternative is 25 hours of thunderhill in an actual race car.
Since american club racing is so fucking stupid there's like 50 classes.
You're not gonna spend any more money running 25hr thunderhill in a spec 944 than you are running 24hr of lemons.
>>13988169
>ill in an actual race car.
because yeah i can totally get a fucking 944 in running/driving condition for ~$2k that itd cost me to build a lemons car.
Fuck off mate.
>>13988181
if you can afford to spend multiple thousands of dollars to run lemons you can afford an actual spec race car. the difference in cost is all in the car and that cost in relatively minimal (2k versus 10k) considering youre going to a real race where youll be sharing the track with million dollar cars not a circus of autistic memesters.
either people want to race for real or they want to be carthrottle memesters. if you're spending $5k+ on the event anyway.. im more inclined to actually race.
