My mother died in 2008 of suicide. The fact that car was totaled by my sister on the same day 12 my mother died is pure coincidence.
It was a good, reliable car. But some tard in a BMW decided going straight from a left turn only lane was a good idea.

I was drunk as fuck one night when my friend and I went to Walmart. Right before we turned in, there was a single cab 90s Ford Ranger with a camper shell like pic related.

My drunk ass says, "look man, a Bronco!"

He had grown up with a Bronco and drove it for some time.

So naturally every time we're driving and see a Ranger he turns to me and says "LOOK MAN A BRONCO".

>tfw I now drive a Bronco

Pretty sure that's a topper and not a camper shell..? What makes it a camper shell, the slide windows with netting?
>>
>>13988354
That's what I've always heard it referred to it as. Though I have heard topper as well.

I think even Ford's nomenclature labels it as a camper shell, though I'd have to break out my manual to double check.

We had 2 LH cars and neither one ever gave us a problem.
My sister ha a 97 Concorde LX with the 3.5L SOHC V6 that gave no trouble until the engine seized at 170k, about 40k after she stopped taking care of it
and the 99 Concorde LXi (3.2L SOHC V6) that was totaled by the BMW never gave us a problem

Not him, obviously, but my older brother, a jeweler, has a 2006 300C with the 5.7L Hemi V8. The car has never given him a problem since he bought it new. He loves it. That fucker can take abuse too. I lost count how many times I've seen him do burnouts for shits and giggles, or the amount of times he's taken it to the drag strip.

While he'd normally have to deal with being mistaken for a nigger in it, that's not a problem where he lives. He lives in a seaside little tourist trap of a town in Maine. I spent about 2 weeks there once. Not once did I see a black person. It's the whitest town to ever exist, not surprising given the prices of everything there.

My dad had one, it went through two transmissions, the suspension fell the fuck apart, the engine made noticeably less power as it approached 200k miles, and an uncountable amount of interior electronic stuff broke, such as:

- Moonroof
-two different windows
-heated seats
-radio buttons
-dash clock
-passenger seat back snapped ( no fat people trust me)
-traction control button fell off inside dash
-shifter cable snapped
-steering wheel material falling apart
-rear defrost created interference for the radio

etc...
>>
>>13990776
Blame Mercedes.
>>
>>13990776
Oh, and:
- hood latch cable
-glove box

Now, my dad has been nicknamed " quality control" since hes so hard on stuff, BUT, none of our Fords and chevys were anywhere near this bad. He drove an F-150 past 400k miles.
>>13990782
while mercedes had a bad period there from about 1995 to 2004, and at the time owned chrysler, chrysler and dodge have had a history of sucking since about the late 70s to the present.

The 300C with the 3 litre CRD engine is a huge piece of shit with SWIRL and EGR failures up the ass. Meanwhile the Chrysler made petrol V6 engines are bullet proof in comparison.
>>
>>13990839
chrysler blames everyone but themselves.

Now their mistakes are fiat's fault
>>
>>13990948
I don't really get all the hate for Chrysler. Their shitboxes are usually cheaper and more reliable than our shitboxes are over here in Europe. They also tend to be a bit more luxurious and offer an awful lot of bang for your buck.
>>
>>13990821
>while mercedes had a bad period there from about 1995 to 2004, and at the time owned chrysler, chrysler and dodge have had a history of sucking since about the late 70s to the present.
Actually you're wrong
Chrysler's years of sucking were from 1960-1980, and 1998-2012. Especially if you look at what they did during those times.
The K-cars were good reliable products that save Chrysler numerous times. When mercedes took over, Chrysler went from the most profitable American automaker with some of the most reliable American cars to the most unreliable and shit quality company period. I've gone over that history in a different thread that's still up.
>>
>>13990988
>Chrysler's years of sucking were from 1960-1980
Wasn't that due to the oil crisis or some shit like that and Chrysler being a retarded fuck who kept pushing out LeBarons and other 7.5 litre landbarges when everyone wanted a faggy little civic?
>>
>>13991007
Chrysler kept misjudging what the market wanted and by the time they got what the market wanted to market, the market for said product had dried up and sales failed.

Chrysler introduced the Valiant in 1961 because they predicted people wanted smaller fuel efficient cars and predicted higher gas prices. The Valiant sold like shit.

The Dodge Challenger was introduced in 1970, about 6 years too late to properly compete with the Mustang and 3 years too late to properly compete with the Camaro/Firebird. and it continued with stupid decisions like that until the K-cars came along. Those K-cars were what everyone wanted at the right fucking time.

You mean 1975-1980. 60's chryslers were great, and not even just muscle cars.
And even then there were some gems in the late 70's.
>>
>>13990988
The 80s Chryslers were especially shit, they were merely smart enough to jump on the downsizing before the competitors and switch to FWD for most things.
>>
>>13988250
You know what, using my imagination, I could easily picture that Ford Ranger as a modern Bronco.

It would look pretty sick, just shorten the wheel base a little bit.
