It's that time of the week again. Post your Scandinavian autos, talk about stuff, and yoke one to the thought of the Volvo concept coupe becoming an actual thing

What's a cheap and fast engine that will just drop right into a 240? Should I just turbo my B230F?

LS swap is very popular but there have been people that swapped a BMW V10 in with success. Personally I'd just turbo it and drop in a performance cam and call it a day for budgetary and installation reasons.

I need tie rod ends in the worst fucking way but the entire thing is rusted to shit. The rubber boot isn't even there on the left one. Still need to find a leak in the power steering too.

Not mine but same color and year

Wood gas powered car. You fill it with wood and it runs.

Played a bit with this in high school

>put wood in sealed container
>heat up without oxygen
>wood turns into natural gas
>filter out the tar
>engine uses wood gas rather than gasoline

This version burns wood to heat the reactor to make wood gas for the car.

So far I've replaced the ball joints and tie rod ends, which got rid of the steering vibration temporarily. Now the rear trailing arm bushings are completely and the car shakes, rattles and squeaks everywhere I go. I've got new ones, but replacing them on my own is gonna be a bitch. New motor mounts are on their way, too, so I can finally tighten up the engine. And as of today the engine randomly cuts out and bucks, and the check engine light is on, so it's probably the fuel pump or the pump relay.

In the spring it'll be time for a new timing belt and seals, a new clutch kit, and various suspension parts and bushings. It's a labour of love.

I should have gone for the poly ones, but I'm a cheap fuck and went with the rubber. Getting them in shouldn't be too awful, but I'm not looking forward to getting the old ones out. 23 years of rust holding them in there, and I don't have a press, so I'll have to get creative without fucking up the ears the hold them in place.

>heat with oxy
>punch out centres when melty
>carefully cut through steel outer shell with a hacksaw blade
and then you can punch them inwards and pry them out. Not too bad.

Oh good. I was iffy about using a torch, since the gas tank is like right there, but if I can do it without leveling my garage I will.
