What do you guys think, should I buy it? Any better SUVs in the 15k range I should look at? Anything that gets better mileage than 14 is a huge plus.

That's concerning. Was it a 6.0L? Every GM my family has ever had has been beyond reliable. Had a 5.7L truck that lasted nearly 200k before we sold it.

Don't remember which engine but the alternator went twice. A/C stopped working, power window main switch stopped working, seat heaters stopped working, power seat stopped working, DVD player stopped working.
It had just over 60k miles. Was still under warranty but they refused to repair anything. So he dumped it back on them

Suspension and wiring are nearly identical but the interiors have a totally different feel. Specs will look the same other than power with the 6.0 Escalade, but go to a stealership and sit in both of them in that body style. Huge difference.
The Tahoe only has that ground clearance because it's lifted.

You should consider a newer Ford econoline I saw a 2010 listed for 10.5k with lower miles and they are very reliable plus more space and comfort

There are no niggers in my state and even if owned by a beaner the maintenance records are quite sound and lets face it, those wetbacks had more money than me to just buy the thing let alone maintain it at a shop that reports their records.

Loaded Excursion wont feel as nice as the Escalade but it's not bad.
A set of King Ranch seats and a newer steering wheel would probably do wonders.
Avoid the Navigator and Expedition, though.
