Not a car, but a bike tube popped while I was airing it up (and it wasn't even close to max PSI) and I could barely hear out of my right ear for an hour.

Yup refilling a donut spare tire back to 60psi got to 35psi and it juat blows a fat hole in the sidewall about a foot from my face ears rang for about an hour.

Did once have a shitty old Kumho blow on us when we lowered the car down again after putting them on my friends A4 Quattro after winter was over... not fun at all, ears ringing for the rest of the day

Probably should've, but didn't expect a blowout from tires that still had a good 5mm depth on them and that were "properly" inflated. It was the last wheel we put on aswell

Anytime I have to air up a tire, I worry this will happen so I keep my face far away from it where possible.... Check PSI and if it's high, let air out... Too low face away from tire and fill up more.
I've had a bike tire do it, at like 20 psi and that scared the shit out of me and made my ears ring for several hours.
