How are these as a Daily Driver?
They aren't.

why not
>>13978771
expand on that

i daily drive an 80s sports car
its my only car
go fuck yourself anon
>>13978786
Nothing wrong with 80s sports cars. But lettuce be cereal pham. Alfa Romeos dont have the best reputation when it comes to DDing
>>13978776
Just Google Alfa gtv electrical and you'll see. They are notorious for electrical gremlins that out the car out of commission even for the smallest of things.
>>13978776
They don't work on a day to day basis
>>13978776
Everything breaks easily, and without warning
Absolutely disgusting
My father used to daily drive one of those
All I need to tell you - It went up in flames 2 times
The driveshaft bent and snapped, because the transmission is in the back and it's spinning with more than 5k rpm
The rear differential just became salt, evaporated, shattered.
The engine was so bad after 2k km, he wanted to replace it with one from a e21 bmw.
>ABSOLUTELY wonderful car though, if I ever stumble upon later in life and I have the resources I will buy one.
>>13979068
This is what I've read about them and every story seems to be the same
>Absolutely wonderful cars when they work
>But they never work
>>13978761
I love this style and from the Scirocco too

How are these as a Daily Driver?
not bad but not for winter. (rwd, no tcs,....)
Maybe, if you have a decent econobox at standby as a back up car.
Like other anons said, it is an absolute masterpiece of a sports car, when it works.
>>13978776
You simply don't DD an 80's Alfa.
If you did that you would be unemployed in no time and unemployed people can't afford the maintenance cost of one anyway.
Italian here, I live in Rome and I never see old Alfas around in any reasonable numbers.
They're a pain to keep working, sadly. The engines should be bulletproof but everything else just rots away.
>>13979419
>old Alfas
Poortuguese here, if by "old Alfas" you mean the 80s models then they are actually pretty common around here. I've only seen a GTV6 once though, and it was in horrendous shape on a second hand Lisbon dealership.
OP, if you're looking for a significantly more DDable retro Alfa then you should consider pic related.
Fast as hell, looks as good as a bricky eighties sedan possibly can, and it's nowhere near as unreliable as the GTV6 - which is to say you will still need a back up car as issues will eventually show up sooner or later. Still, it's a much better choice for a DD.
>>13978761
They're good for a daily driver if you work from home and never go anywhere because you have no immune system so you just sit in the car and cry instead of going anywhere.
>>13979150
That's one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen in my entire life. I'm in love.
>>13978771
Fuckin this
>>13979290
Think if I was cashed up and had the mechanical sympathy to fuck around with Italian shitboxes all day, I'd spring for one of these instead
alfa definitely has had probably the strongest designers on average over their entire life span.
>>13979888
I've been hunting for one for good five years now. It is anything but a DD, let alone reliable one at that. Doesn't belittle the awesomeness of said car though.
You ameribros could probably have more luck finding one in good shape. I'm from Russia and they never officially imported these to our country.
OP, go for america V6 for that glorious sound. They are a bit front-heavy, but the sound is majestic. Twin-spark turbo is a more balanced all-rounder.

Out of all the bad alfa romeos, you picked the worst. Among the electrical problems they had, another issue they had was their bad door hinges. My uncle's friend opened the driver door one day, and the door just fell off. MY uncle laughed like a moron, and half a year lated the door from his alfasud also fell off.
Unless you find a a GTV restored and maintained at boomer tier levels, stay away.
