The Ferrari 330Ps didn't break down in '67. The 907/908s didn't break down in '68 or '69.
The change in regulations didn't matter anyway since the car went on to win in '68 and '69 after the banning the big-block V8s.

Either way, you are basing your entire argument that the GT40 is like the 787B because of it won an annual event in which other cars in the same class either didn't finish or if it did finish, it did not place on the podium.
