>American
>lola chassis
obviously british
who are you guys quoting?
>>13976703
>Took it from the British
>Improved it exponentially
>Dominated the rest of the world with it
Son, that's the most American car there is.
>>13976981
ford without Shelby is like Toyota without Yamaha or fiat without faza
>>13976981
>>13976981
>Dominated the rest of the world with it
this car is over rated as fuck
its america's 787B
>>13977678
>its america's 787B
If this car was sogood why did they stop making them unlike lambo or ferarris flagship midships?
Checkmate /o/thiests.
>>13977698
Because no matter how good it is people scoff at it because it's a Ford
>>13977678
>its america's 787B
You're an idiot.
Unlike the Mazda, the GT40 went on to win more than a single race. It even claimed championship titles.
>>13977719
the only competition in the +2000cc class was ferrari
>>13977739
Your point?
That's like saying the only competition Porsche had in the WEC was Audi.
>>13977765
audi lost the cahmpionship to toyota in like 2014
besides, there are more than two teams in lmp1
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2015_FIA_World_Endurance_Championship_season
teams like austin healy or chaparral rarely raced in the +2000cc class
brah
>>13976981
>Took it from the British
Except it was designed in Britain by a half British, half American team, which makes it at least half British.
Same as with the oh so holy Cobra. All you fat shits did was take a British car, shove a big engine in it and put ridiculous fender flares and hood scoops on it.
Can you even for once design a good sports car all by yourself?
>>13977781
>a brit is here
kek here we go
>>13977786
German.
>>13977739
na m8 porsche 906 is king
>>13977799
that was in the 2 liter class
>>13977776
Toyota was shit in 2015 and you know it.
Porsche really only had to compete with Audi this season.
>>13977781
>>13977789
Still an old world dipshit, but I do understand you are to busy building refugee housing to know what you are talking about.
The 427 cobra and mk iv Ford gts where entirely American. The early 289 cobras and mki gt was indeed at least half British.
>>13977719
it is literally america's 787B tho
>famous because it won le mans
>chassis made by brits
>won because competition broke down
>change in regulation after its fluke wins
>became no longer competitive
>>13977836
>win race 4 years in a row
>"OMAGAWD GUIZ, ITZ A FLUKE! FLUKE!!!"
The Ferrari 330Ps didn't break down in '67. The 907/908s didn't break down in '68 or '69.
The change in regulations didn't matter anyway since the car went on to win in '68 and '69 after the banning the big-block V8s.
>>13977823
stay safe anon
i hope you don't got shot on your way to mcdonanlds
>>13977860
>win race 4 years in a row
the mk2 the one in the OP won only once and it won because all the +2000cc competitors broke down
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1966_24_Hours_of_Le_Mans
just like mazda
>68
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1968_24_Hours_of_Le_Mans
kek, all the competitors broke down again, the gt was the only car in the class S to get a podium
>69
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1969_24_Hours_of_Le_Mans
>two other class S cars that were not GT40s managed to finish
>not manufacturer teams neither
its basically the 787b of you consider its IMSA GT after lemans career aswell
All this thread shows is that trying to shoehorn a car into being completely from one nation or another is often rather artificial.
>>13977889
I'm noticing that you are deliberately excluding the '67 race.
Either way, you are basing your entire argument that the GT40 is like the 787B because of it won an annual event in which other cars in the same class either didn't finish or if it did finish, it did not place on the podium.
Could you post a more grossly contrived argument? The link between the Ford and Mazda seem a little too concrete still.
>>13977899
It helps the autists understand the world if they can label things to make it easier to draw conclusions and stereotypes from it.
>>13977928
the 67 race was won by the mkiv which is all american and was a very close race
>>13976981
>buys a british car maker
>design a car in britain by brits
>build car in britain by brits
>british drivers race car
most american (tm) car ever
>>13978032
You forgot:
>race won by kiwi drivers
>>13977889
>endurance racing
>reliable car gets good results
God forbid anybody finishes the damn race, am I right?
>>13978032
>Car was developed in part by Shelby and Ford Engineers in America
>Who is Phil Hill
>Who is Dan Gurney
>Who is Lloyd Ruby
>What is Damage Control
>>13978075
yup, even the same response as 787b fanbase
>b-but it was reliable
>>13980099
Do you also go to drag races and talk shit about the winners for
>m-muh acceleration
>>13980363
>going to drag races
Im not a pleb
>>13981246
>not going to drag races
