There are always fast fwds, if a shitbox is rwd you can at least have some stupid fun with it in the winter or whatever.
FWD is worse than american "Sport" cars, because while they can't turn well, they can at least turn without killing you. lmao.

>The Viper V10 is based on the Chrysler LA engine family, and appeared with the Dodge Viper in 1992. It was conceived and prototyped as a Magnum 5.9 with two extra cylinders and a longer stroke of 3.88 in (99 mm).
tell me where does it mentions the word iron in this paragraph
>Chrysler engineers revamped Dodge's cast-iron block V10 for the Viper[citation needed] by recasting the block and heads in aluminum alloy. Prototype blocks were cast by Lamborghini, at the time a Chrysler division.
it does here
and again, it doesnt even mention the v8 prototypes

>>13976377
you dont even know what is being discussed buddy
no production viper engine is iron and no production viper engine is based on the magnum v10 or in an LA
>>13976296
Lamborghini helped with the block and crank
>>13976388
they built the prototype iron v10 from the LA v8, then changed to aluminum
so yes, the production engine is based of a v8 chrysler LA engine
>>13976388

>>13976400
>so yes, the production engine is based of a v8 chrysler LA engine
except it isnt, if you belive you can fit any part from a 360 v8, you are wrong
the engine oil, water and heads also have nothing to do with it
an engine sharing bore and size stroke doesnt mean it is "based" on another one
>>13976406
>all this mad because he doesnt understand what is being discussed here

I do, you just can't interpret the responses people give you correctly
>>13976445
>did i say it was based off a chrysler v8? yes
this is wrong tho, an engine having same bore and stroke sizes doesnt mean its based on it, the oil, water, crankshaft, head, pistons etc are completly different
the iron v8 proto had a 360 LA, and the iron p'rotytpe was based on that v8
the aluminium engine is different and was made by lamborghini
>the engineers used the v8 as abase to build a v10
lol
>fwd, chevy designed lambo engine, and burgerking memes all in one

the 8 liter viper engine is italian and the 8.3 is made by mclaren, why are you even arguing facts?
>>13976508
>build a iron v10 from a v8
>change that iron v10 to aluminum v10
>this magically changes that the engines design stemmed from a v8
you dont understand how history works do you?
>>13976527
>change that iron v10 to aluminum v10
except that is wrong
you cannot simply cast the same iron design in aluminium
just the fact alone that aluminium blocks have to be redesigned from thei iron counterparts is proof enough of how its not the same
Ok. Trying to follow argument that's going on, but I'm not all here. This is a really short run down of development of the engine.
I will post some citations at the end.
Chrysler developed the viper engine off the V10 magnum truck engine, which was in turn based off the LA V8.
Lambo did help with design of the engine, as they had expertise in the matter. Mainly helping change it from iron to aluminum.
Still not really sure what that one guy is on about.
But it all started with calling the snek italian. But to be honest it's not. Lambo did help yes, but it's was still over seen and produced by americans, and there is much more to a car than an engine.
If I've fucked up do ask something specific and I'll research more.
But don't ask why I did this, cocaine is a hell of a drug.

yes, but it also doesnt mean it was not designed by lamborghini
why would I care if I never go over 70 and just use the car to run around
>>13976566
never said it wasnt, i just said the v10 was based off a chrysler v8
>>13976557
All indications say that it was still started from the truck engine. I never said that it was.
I used the three sites to try to piece something together. Whatever seemed the the most consistent I went with.
But I'm pretty fucked up so it's possible nothing I say is true.
But still, the main point was that the car was italian which it's not. Not to say that italians didn't have a hand, but the car is still quite american.
>>13976584
That it was the truck engine*
Main point of that being that the engine itself went through a massive design process, but you can ultimately trace it back to the truck engine, then the LA V8.
>>13976579
>different oil and water passages
>different heads
>different crankshaft for the first 8 cylinders
>different block
>based on a v8
having the same bore and stroke is not being based on
the one that was based on a chrysler LAwas the iron prototype
>>13976631
>engine is based off a v10 iron prototype
>which was based off a v8
>somehow history changes and the new engine never stemmed from the v8
i repeat again, you dont know how history works do you?
>>13976631
You are right.
But maybe it should be said loosely based on.
Without it, it is possible they may have not got to the V10, and then not the Aluminum V10 in the viper.
And I really really feel like this is just alphonse.
But I hope it's not, cause I almost refuse to respond to him
>>13976657
look buddy, im not going to spend all night arguing wirh a rock here, you cannot cast an iron engine with aluminium without modyfying it
lamborghini had to extensively modify the iron v10 prototype, the heads are different, the oil and water passages are different, the crank is different
if you still belive an engine with different heads, different pistons, different intake and exhaust mainfold, different block etc etc is still the same you are beyond hope
>>13976675
im not alphone
fuck ford tbqhwy
>thinking RWD is a meme
you faggots don't know the first thing about physics. Front tires do the majority of the work when braking and cornering. Asking them to do the work of accelerating is just inefficient, from a physics standpoint. You get less total force down onto the pavement before you lose grip.
FWD sucks dick for any kind of performance. It's good because it's cheap, that's it.
>>13975809
Sounds like a recipe for a reliable DD
>>13976685
lmao you seem to be the rock
all i've been saying is that the engine was BASED off a v8
that means that the design stemmed from the v8, into a iron v10, then into the aluminum v10
which means that the aluminum v10 stemmed from the v8
>>13975819
this is bait
>>13976694
Just cause you say you're not doesn't mean you aren't.
But I'll choose to believe it.
I also am not a fan of ford.
Really more of a chevy guy, but I'm open to anything with an engine.
