If Ford made it, they'd have to make it better than the Fiesta ST, which would make it dangerously close to outperforming the Focus ST, and possibly the Focus RS, especially if they gave the Fiesta RS AWD and more displacement. People throw a couple hundred bucks into the Fiesta ST and see 220-230 to the wheels, so it would be hard to justify spending $5k+ extra just for an RS badge and muh drift mode.

Should absolutely be more powerful and expensive than a focus st it's in a different class. RS carries a culture with one the fiesta is no stranger to. This will appeal to a different market than the focus st. The st are sporty econo boxes while the RS is full blown rally sport vehicles. While the focus RS is a hooning drift monster of fun the fiesta RS will be the fwd precision canyon carving auto cross monster.

Those numbers seem low, I'd be hoping for at least ~275whp/275wtq. Going big turbo on the current Fiesta ST puts you in the ~300/300 range.

The rumors I've heard is that ~if~ it's ever made, it'll be produced in Germany only which makes things tricky since the current NA FiST is produced in Mexico (though not for long).

275whp in a 2700lb car would be running down their halo car (Focus RS, 290-300~ whp in a 3400lb car) and a bigger turbo would be laggier (against the "Ecoboost" ethos which makes them have strong mid-range and full boost at 2000-2500rpms at expense of the rest of the powerband)
220-240whp sounds more realistic. Just take the 2.0 Turbo from the Focus ST and cram it in the Fiesta. It's probably physically too big to do that though.

They won't make it. Modern Ford are absolute pussies. They decided not to make the previous Fiesta in RS form because muh financial climate, muh insurance for young drivers, muh brand direction.
Meanwhile the EP3/FN2 Type R were selling in droves, the mk1 AND mk2 Focus RS were sold in the bajillions, and plenty of other cars that the RS Fiesta would have competed with were selling well.
Ford were so close to bottling it with the Mk7 Fiesta ST but we got it eventually.

Most of this is due to the brake-assisted torque vectoring.
An RS would munch through pads and discs like a glutton at an ayce buffet if the car came sans LSD.

mm, just looked at a v-dyno last night, my FiST is putting down ~250wtq at 2800rpm, and about 200whp.
Haven't even tried it on E30 yet, so I think ~270wtq/220whp is possible on the current 1.6 ecoboost with the stock FiST turbo (with a better exhaust, better intercooler, and a bigger intake filter)

I've actually considered getting a fiesta.
I would probably be looking at used, unless the new RS (I've always wanted a Focus RS, but Fiesta RS seems more feasible for me)

That interior dash panel is so goddamn fucking ugly. Whoever decided that 1 button to lock all the doors should be placed in the center should be shot in front of their family.
