I would get a ppi done on the car for peace of mind. I looked at these years ago and some key points to look for is
Subframe wear
Smg pump
And vanos issue.
12k for a car with a 140k miles seems a bit crazy. But, i dont know the normal rate for e46m3 cars

Problem with real manuals is that they're rare as fuck. Too many convertibles on the market as well.

But yeah, mileage and the smg trans is why this m3 is so cheap... Really good manuals can be up to $20k or more depending on the market.

Don't like that it's a smg. Pretty good that it's a 1 owner and he says he has the maintenance documents. If you contact him ask how often the oil was changed, Vanos, and subframe.
