>>
>implying the magazines don't just hand out awards
>implying the NHTSA didn't know about GM's "issues"

If everyone knew that GM sucked as shit as they did when the taxpayers were on the hook for their retardation (less the millions we lost outright because they'd need record valuations for us to be made whole) they'd be dead now. For real real not for play play.
>>

>they'd need record valuations for us to be made whole
Slow rolling the sell off by 3 months would have turned the government a profit, no records needed. They only needed records to clear a profit after they'd sold most of the stock at a clear loss. Waiting just a hair would have changed the math.

Canada made money on their share...
>>
>>13963965
Depends on how fast you want the Camaro to be.

The Colorado Diesel is cheaper to DD than the SS.

It's funny because my parents have had janitor-tier amounts of keys alongside the keys to their 1997 Accord

Yet I can't shut that car off as easily, and Honda ignitions from that era are notorious for wearing out quickly. I bet I could start it with the key from another Honda though, but it won't shut off that easily

The new Tacoma is identical to the new Hilux, except for the interiors, the bumper, and the fact that a Tacoma has to meet US Emissions, something Japanese diesels seem to be unable to do. Maybe they can buy a motor from an American company like Nissan is doing for the Frontier.
>>13965531
The ignition switch deaths are caused by people losing power steering, brakes, and airbags, when the car switches off. If you can steer and stop without power assist, you can avoid accidents (made more dangerous by disabled airbags) caused by the ignition failure.
>>13967062
The Car Off The Year competition is open to new or greatly revised cars that will be available for sale before January First. So the Mustang was eligible last year (though the GT350 would have been eligible this year if they'd submitted it), and the V6 & V8 Camaro are eligible now. The T4 will be a low volume seller, the Ecoboost Ford is a big seller mostly because the V6 is only available in rental car spec. If you want leather you need to go T4 or V8.

They fucking hate the Z06. It was the third fastest car in their drivers car competition, and completed every task, but they gave it a DNF because improper reassembly after a crash repair kept it from making boost.
>>13969290
12 seconds over 7 minutes is the same as .285 seconds in the 1320, at the speeds these cars run. If you don't have an FIA Silver license, you are probably going to be a bigger time sink than 12 seconds you lose switching to the slower car.

And worse can definitely be more fun than better, just ask people who like Miatas, Lambos, and Rx-7s.

More like keeping up with traffic. The EPA cycle gives you 30 seconds to get to 60, my shitty old diesel takes 16, and I can barely pull out onto a road with a 55 mph limit unless there is 0 traffic, without feeling like I'm forcing people to hit their brakes. Most people will naturally go 0-60 in ten seconds or so unless they are in a car that takes more than 10.

And a Z06 Z07 starts at $89k, the Z07 package is $9995, and requires a carbon fiber option package that costs $2995, but requires no other options. But that NISMO GTR costs a whole GT350 more than the Corvette.

The key when faced with a situation like this - where your only sources of information have distinct biases - is that you have to pick some number of them that have opposing viewpoints, read the articles they write about a particular topic, and compare where they agree and where they disagree. The areas where they agree are likely the truth, the rest is subjective opinion or paid shilling. It's what I've had to do for 15+ years with politically charged topics, it's mostly worked so far.

>>13969686
>>The EPA cycle gives you 30 seconds to get to 60
It also doesn't help that the highway portion doesn't test at the speeds people actually drive on the highway, either; the highway schedule doesn't exceed 60mph ever, there's a 'high speed' test that can be used to adjust the highway results but who knows if these companies are bothering to use it. Or even test the damn cars to start with!
