So I'm gonna be building an 86 from a shell. I have a 4agze with supercharger that I plan on converting to turbo, t50 tranny not much else. Anything I need to know?

Sr5 will need the tank modified for a return line or a gts tank. There's something about the rear axle or brakes as well.

Jack the rear end up and spin the back wheels. If both spin in the same direction, no LSD, if they spin in opposite directions, then it has an LSD.
Feel free to ask any other questions. I built a 20v Blacktop swapped 86 coupe two summers ago. Started as an auto SR5, so I had to do the manual conversion, fuel pump/tank mods, wiring, everything.
Pic related is the coupe. I miss the shit out of that thing, but selling it was absolutely necessary at the time.

There's some debate over the wheel spin test, so the most obvious thing to do if you're unsure of that is to look at the pumpkin and it should have a sticker (if it hasn't fallen off over the years, but most of the time they'll still be hanging on surprisingly) that says "LSD."

Any opinions on whether I should stick with the supercharger or turbo it? In an ideal world I would have a 20v but money is an object at the moment.
Also the gas tank is not in the car. Anything I need to know about installing that?

Personally, either way is going to be difficult, but keeping the supercharger should be your easiest bet to start out with, at least in terms of getting the car to crank. You will need a custom harness (look into Tweak'd Performance) and most likely a standalone ECU to run that. 20V's are nice because Tweak'd makes a drop in harness for $450 and then you just use the Blacktop ECU.
The gas tank is something of a pain in the ass for SR5 models, because the 4AC they came with used a manual fuel pump that ran off of compression (I think) instead of electricity. So you have to cut the stem from the tank's feed line and put an aftermarket fuel pump in there and wire it up. But you have a GTS model, so the gas tank should be good to go and you shouldn't need to modify it.
