I have a little bit of experience. ME/FSAE Student

How big of a deal is using cad and 3d modelling?

CAD makes life much easier.
>>13961683
CAD is very important, but you should also try to learn as much as you can about material properties, mechanics of materials, weight transfer, and vehicle dynamics
>>13961584
ME/FSAE Student as well, but only have powertrain experience.
Read Carroll Smith's books, he has 4 or 5 on chassis engineering and tuning

There's an engineering forum where you can ask this question. It's like the first result on Google. For the love of God don't ask here.
>google books .com
>search chassis engineering

They hate threads like this, lol.

Anyway I think OP is just wondering if people have done anything not asking for advice, which would be retarded to ask for on /o/.

i do have a bunch of books on the subject but it's nothing I have attempted on my own. (Plus i'm pretty shit at maths).
I know there are some FSAE fags on here so I just wanted to hear from them on what they've been involved with.
