The Grom is fine. It's based on a motor that honda has been building since the early sixties and is about as reliable as anything ever built. The suspension is better than most scooters and some lightweight sportbikes. It's a good alternative to a scooter, probably your only choice if you want a scooter-like experience without being a dork. If you can afford it, just buy it.

it's ok for in town, but honestly you'll be riding one day and you'll get bored of your town and you'll want to ride to another city or down the coast. because of this, you'll fucking hate the grom, as it tops out at 60mph and has no power to go anywhere else.
trust me, my last bike had the same hp and acceleration and top speed as a grom. it was fun, but you want at least a 250 for a first bike.
honestly you can get a CBR250r for the exact same price as a grom, and it is a hell of a lot more bike.

Shitty first bike since no torque and a clutch with no friction zone. You'll be stalling that bitch for a good week or so, just randomly at stoplights. Seat is hard and it vibrates a bunch at high rpm so long highway stretches of topping out at 60 suck dick. It's durable as fuck though, simple and cheap to maintain, and has a large aftermarket. Like described above, it's a scooter with 4 gears to hoon about on. I'm retarded and I take mine on roadtrips.
