I hate the fact that when it comes to things people tend to be "passionate" about, like cars, people think there is no such as bad taste.
It's always the same argument, don't hate on someone's project just respect the effort and dedication, shit like that.
That's bullshit really, of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion but at a certain point stancefags should realize, "ok, there's some very valid reasons why people dislike this, they're not just hating on my swag bro."
Think of it like this, you see a guy buy a pair of pretty serious running shoes, like they were made for someone who actually gives a shit about running and they perform really well.
Then a group of people starts buying these shoes but instead of running in them they remove the soles, put giant laces on them and sand and engrave the bottoms of the shoe with shit like "illest" and "I love my haters" rendering them perform even worse than some cheap tennis shoes when it actually comes to running.

I disagree, however, about boomers not destroying their cars. A major contributing factor to why safety regulations came about so strongly is that kids driving muscle cars would drag race whenever they had the chance, and drive cars that lolcantturn like they were indie cars and getting into record high number of accidents. They didn't give a fuck that they were ruining their cars by what they were doing.

Hate is a bit "too far"... I certainly don't like it, especially when the modification of a vehicle means that it now poses a significant danger to other traficants (super stretched tires, suspension so low you mighe get stuck and obstruct traffic and so on)
I like cars for their functionality and utility, and my ideology for modifying cars work pretty much in the same way. Cosmetics are cosmetics and can be modified just fine. The problems (for me) start when you reduce or completely impair the practical functionality of your vehicle for no reason other than cosmetics. You are reducing the performance potential of your vehicle while gaining absolutely nothing except for matching a "trend".
Improve cosmetics to improve cosmetics, improve performance to improve performance, but don't let comsetics affect the performance/functionality to a degree where your car no longer functions in an "acceptable" manner
