Post cars that have potential. 240sx obvious start
2 door LX GTR Torana.
Honestly, with only 840kg in stock this has a lot of potential if you swap out a bigger engine
every car has potential

The whole point of running a larger offset is wider wheels/tires, wtf

You're both correct!

First correct and best answer
Any JZX chassis. Stock form looks like a grandpa mobile but with a little work they can make badass street and track cars
>>13958128
The only potential the corvette has is to be slower.
>>13958148
itbs, 180 degree headers, better cam, 5-10k in coilovers, and modern rubber and you got a good looking, handling and sounding all rounder for not a lot of money with decent power, probably 450hp.
sure it's a lot to put in an old vette but if you have a vision of what you want in terms of performance it's a great base to start from.

This is so common that I feel like I'm doing something unique and original by building up the stock L24.
>>13958860
Yeah but here in the US an LS1 would make more sense.
>>13958971
Agreed. Swapped 240Zs are about as common as stock ones. I don't care though.

>>13959163

>>13958050
Badass maybe, fast not sure.
Remember, it's a grandpamobile stock, meaning comfy therefore boat-like suspensions, it's not a featherweight, and potentially bad braking and loose steering.
Yet they have great engines (1jz ?) and are solid RWD platforms.

I just need to visualize, then actualize fully.
Or rob a bank.
I wish I could get around to putting the concept I have for this on paper, but I'm so god damn lethargic.
>>13959973
On paper? or in metal?
>>13955267
Every car has potential. It's just a matter of if you have the talent, knowledge, and foresight to see it.
>>13959983
Well both eventually, hopefully.
I want to mock up the design, but I'm not that great an artist, so that would take me some time.
Then I need to come up with an actual plan. The details of what I'll need to do, parts, modifications, etc. But the lack of money makes me not want to do this.
And at some point put all this shit together.
>>13955308
cramped engine bay means that it's going to suck total balls
5.0 fox body mustang with a twin turbo ls1 is street racer jesus
>>13959990
what design? are you planning on a bodykit?
>>13959996
the engine bays are huge. you could stick a big block in one.
>>13960005
You could MAYBE fit a small block chevy and transmission in there sideways. There is a reason they made the vr6 instead of making a v6 engine. A vr6 swap or turbo awd golf 1 has a lot of potential but it's not the ideal sports car chassis.
>>13960005
fuck you're sideways
>>13960005
Maybe, probably.
Like I said, I'm too lazy to really into any detail with anything.
I have a general idea of what I want, but haven't gone any further than that. My plan was to do that when I actually get into anything design wise.
>>13960023
That's a rover v8, not a step up from the vr6 even and it required custom modification of the subframe. That thing is a mini block
>>13960011
vr6 is garbage tier engine tho

with the 2.5l V6 you can reach the 60 mph in 4-5 seconds.
>>13957683

>>13958226
that would actually be pretty good, you solve most of the cars issues.
i'd add a pair of recaros and a momo wheel to the list, and some solid bushes

>not even the same generation, let alone model
Good to see you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.
>>13966425
The LX and the LJ are pretty much identical, they just modified it and called it the gtr xu1 then proceeded to race it around bathurst.
>>13966431
Shit LC lol just noticed you were talking about him calling it an LX and so did i haha, perhaps it was a typo?
>>13966431
>LX and LJ are pretty much identical
No they aren't. Not even close.
The second generation LJ you've just posted and the LC in the first reply itt are the same generation, of which both had an XU-1 variant of the GTR, where as the LJ was a face of the third generation LH.
>>13966432
Lol, fair mistake.
>>13966437
>LJ was a face of the third generation LH.
Fuck, now I did it...
the LX was a face lift of the third generation LH*
>>13966441
Wasnt the LH the a9x and the LX is what people put an a9x body kit on?
Or have i got that back to front.
>>13966477
They did the paint wrong and the wheel arches are a terrible fit on that one lol.

Probably running 50mm bolts on spacers or something retarded
>>13955281

>>13966477
Nup. LH and LX both had SLR (5000 if equipped with a 308) sports models (similar to the GTR in the previous shape), where the LH had the L34 homologation options on top of the SLR, the LX was indeed the A9X options.
