So I'm watching Initial D Legend, with the eurobeat edit that some anon made. It's pretty good, but another complaint I have is the new VAs. Takumi sounds like such a loser holy shit. Does it get any better? Or is Legend just completely inferior to the original?

I'm at the start of stage 4. Please no spoilers, but does Itsuki ever get his racing moment. Iketani too, he almost got his 3 seconds of fame in a recent ep but he still got destroyed like a bitch.

Would have been better if Itsuki bought an FF car on accident , then learns to git gud and is as good as takumi or nearly so at the end of the series .
That'd drive home the message better and allow Itsuki to have a real arc

Iketani was never more than decent at the start- one thing in particular was drifting with the ebrake only, no weight transfer/Scandanavian flick like the other racers do- and the only time they show he's improved in one of the later seasons, it's to illustrate that you can't push your car harder than physically possible- even with home course advantage and better skilled driving, he gets destroyed by an S15.

Initial D should have ended on Third Stage max, and it would have worked even better if it ended on Stage 1.
Stage 1 has everything, the characters feel genuine, the boyracing is relatable, there's actual animation in it, the night races ooze atmosphere, there's actual plot besides "lol dagumi races just cause and wins", the cheesiness is just right and it's not trying to take itself seriously like it started to with 2nd stage.
The next stages just diluted it I think and the new movies don't really capture the atmosphere of Stage 1. Maybe I'm just biased because I'm a sucker for 90s style anime, but the new movies don't really do it for me. The whole new voice cast, lack of the old BGMs and Eurobeat also doesn't help.

Third stage would have been the perfect ending. It would leave a lot open to the imagination. For example "does dagumi join this 'elite team' ? Or "does dagumi ever see Mogi again?"
Either way I feel like 3rd stage would have been a great ending to the show.
Also the show died when Mogi left because she added some other shit to the series other than >muh fastest driver

Kenji is so irrelevant that he doesn't even have a named character in the Legend reboots- just a face extra in the background as one of the Speed Stars.
One of the things that really bothers me about the reboot is how fancy the team stickers are, as silly as that sounds- every single team has these big, fancy designs and logos and insignias, instead of the simple square decals or plain blocky text in the original, the type of logos you'd expect from a bunch of high school or college aged buddies with little art ability and not much more racing ability (like everyone's favorite neckbeard-funded WAT stickers).
