The frs is slow, but if you have skills It is supposedly good in the Twisties. I can dust a frs every time at a red light with my ae86 that has a 20v silver top swap, and that's not making that much power. Maybe 130hp at the wheels.

I took my BRZ on a road rally through about 800 miles of twisty roads. It was the most fun I've had in a car, and I easily kept pace with the more expensive sports cars that were there. It's a fantastic car, and I really think all the detractors of the toyobaru have never driven one hard.

Things you need to know
-stock tires are total shit. They are fun as fuck to slide around on but for actual performance are utterly miserable and you will lose traction on tight turns if you're trying to hit the apex. You need new soft tires, both the old ones (michelin primacies) and new ones (bridgestone turanza) are low rolling resistance ultra hard tires that are intended to get MPG, not have performance. get a new set of rims and tires (direzza star specs) and swap them on when you want to drive for real
-stock ecu tune is also for mileage and there is a massive penalty for leaving the powerband (55 to 65) since there's a torque dip at 45 to 55. Flash the ECU to get rid of it but this kills your mileage
-it makes a stupid chirping noise if you feed it 91 and not 93 but otherwise runs fine. Get 93 in it if you can
otherwise it's a great car, it and the miata are the only two cars with its handling characteristics at this price point
