I feel bad for you.
I knew someone with a 1991 vw passat and IF that car ever received an oil change, it certainly didn't happen in time of that dude's ownership (a little over a decade).
So it's possible that this car never got its oil changed but it still runs perfectly fine (1.8 4cylinder with 290k kilometers on the odo)
