It is good if you only compare cars at the 14k price range with it.
But if you go up to 18-20k it turns into complete shit in comparison.
Personally for 14k id get a kia soul, most bang for the buck and are reliable from all what ive heard
Buy a Fiesta.
The Mazda Demio Sport 15Z is the better compact car.
Get that instead.

14k and 18k cars are usually cross shopped, i.e people will look at mazda 2, Civic, Forte, Sonic, Elantra, Accent, Rio.

Not when you compare it to the fit.
The fit has more power, better use of space, almost as good fuel economy, and will be more reliable.
I bought a used one for $7800, for that money I like it. Although a larger hatchback or sedan would be more useful sometimes if I want to carry more things.

Not if you finance and believe you can get a better long term deal from the $18k car. I cross shopped $15k and $20k cars because I have no money but could pay either of the monthly payments.
The Mazda 2 is ok, but cramped inside. Back seats are shit. Clutch is really goddamn soft. Interior quality is fine.
