And you still didn't embrace the fresh wave of progressive car design yet.

Why still driving in 5th hand rust boxes with 30 years old farts in the seats when you can be a progressive car enthusiast?

New cars are for faggot little pussies. You have to build a purpose built street/ race car nowadays from a collectible old popular platform. If you don't want fart seats you buy some new racing seats and bolt them in. Then you can driver around getting stink faces from "progressive fags" like OP when you smoke their new car that they think is good.

>>13930059

Better yet. Drive your car in manual-mode like a complete asshole causing all of their self-driving nanny cars to overcompensate making them spill their coffee and drop their future smartphone equivalents or whatever the fuck.
>>
>>13930059
>"progressive fags" like OP
apparently sarcasm still doesn't work over the interwebs
>>
In the far future when cars get more shit there will be an underground racing circuit of 80s-90s cars
>>
>>13930024
is that the new Lexus?
>>
>>13930111

Wasn't there some anon some weeks ago who wrote about literal underground scenes in the 90's?

I don't remember that well but in Detroit or Chicago they met up at night in abandoned underground places like metro tunnels and underpasses and hooned the fuck out those places and no one cared.
>>
>>13930130
I think it was a few months ago. And I think that paradise is gone now.
>>
>>13930167
You could probably still do it in Detroit.
>>
>>13930178
Is it even possible to survive in Detroit for 2 seconds? Can you even drive through it without something bad happening to you?

Ok instead of bitching about modern car design thread #63489, what are some things you guys actually LIKE about modern cars?
>>
>>13930227
they're comfy
>>
>>13930227
fuel efficiency i guess, other than that everything about new cars that I don't have with my car is petty fucking nonsense that people look at as "luxuries"
>>
>>13930227
The power trains I guess.
>>
>>13930233
this. a stereo system with a screen is fine but when they add a backup camera screen, digital guage cluster, power fucking everything it gets ridiculous. I really dont need any of that shit but in some cases a backup camera can be useful
>>
>>13930036
See, this is what fucking happens, 4chan.

We make up a bunch of bullshit for lulz, it gets thrown around the internet a bit and then it fucking becomes real.
>>
>>13930259
Backup camera can be useful with large vehicles, but not in small cars. I hate the idea that automatic braking exists, side view mirror light that lets you know someone is there and won't let you turn, self driving cars, being able to text and access social media with your car. I hate all of these features because it takes you away from what you are supposed to be doing.....which is driving the fucking vehicle. All these features allow you to pay less attention to the road and your surroundings and allow you to be a bad driver.
>>
>>13930227
they are disposable garbage
>>13930231
their not comfy they just don't make as much noise
>>13930236
I don't like them
its cheaper to replace an entire module than attempt repair on any sub component
>>
>>13930227
Any 'likes' are extremely outweighed by general unreliability, ugly inconvenient designs, weight, cost (for anything good, not cheap shit), GPS tracking ipads glued onto the dash with always-on microphones and black boxes and, from a mechanic/tinkerer stand point, retarded designs that are incredibly annoying to work on with small, simple to replace components being few and far between in favor of larger, more expensive ones.

Modern cars are shit. For the price of a >2005 and up car you can a nice early to mid 90s delicious box and restomod it.

I have my project car for fun. New cars are efficient for comfortably commuting.

I don't really feel the need to "look cool" on my commute every morning and evening.

the project car is there when I want to have fun

>Entire car falls apart at 100,001 miles
>Tracks everything you do so the dealership will void the warranty because of that one time you accidentally spun the wheels on the dirty patch of road
>Warranty only holds up if servicing is done correctly which includes ridiculous, large component replacements requiring specific tools (wait until you need to replace a fucking fuel-pump filter)
>Gets the same fuel economy a 1996 civic does
>>
>>13930290
New cars don't need to "look cool" they just have to be ridiculous looking. Sadly every new car has to be so extreme and angry looking. Nothing can be simply, everything needs to look over the top and "sporty." There is no "looking cool" when cars come standard with fake hood intakes and fake exhaust tips. Things would be okay if they were just more subtle and less in your face.

>>13930293
>total $1500 covers maintenance for first 750,000 miles
Doesn't seem to bad. Any evidence of such warranty denials?
