To get 600-700hp you'd have to push atleast 10-14psi and probably upgrade the valve train along with the fuel system and do a full dyno tune.

Don't try and act like GM did not order the shut down of Holden due to GM's grudge against workers unions in Australia providing the people who worked for the company with fair pay for fair work.
The main reason Holden failed is because GM stole the Torana and made Holden sell that Cruze garbage car instead.
We were going to get these from base model run about cars up to super charged HSV's and GM stole the car to sell as a Chevy.
My mother has a 2006 manual. It's a fun car. Plenty of power and torque. Handling is damn good considering its size. Pretty comfortable too.
It isn't the most reliable car though. My parents bought it new and it has 40,000 miles on it now. Things that have gone wrong with the car:
-Seat stitching is FUCKED, even in the back where no one has ever sat
-Water pump at 25,000
-Window arms in driver's door are bent to shit, window inoperable
-Radiator just blew up at 40,000
Remember, my 56 year old mother drives this car... This is a lot of shit to happen in 40,000 miles.
They are also known to catch fire because of a shitty fuel line route. Not sure if all years have that problem.

The Chevy SS is wayyy too expensive for the average crowd. I'm not too familiar on what the difference between the G8 and the SS are, but afaik didn't the G8 have a much cheaper price tag? Power and cool looks, with cheap as fuck interiors are what the younger guys care about.
When you take a car that looks that aggressive and make it look like a Malibu, it becomes a sleeper. Why they would do that? Not really sure, only people that can afford those are in the midlife crisis stage and want something flashy like a Corvette, not this.

You really have no idea cunt. Firstly Im australian, secondly australia has more public holidays than pretty much any other developed nation. Sick days and holidays are mandatory for full time workers, like all other workers in the country. But the unions pushed for MORE sick days and paid holidays, a ridiculous amount which was one of the major contributing factors to toyota shutting down production in australia. Its just not feasible to keep a plant running when it literally shuts down for five fucking weeks over christmas and a week whenever theres a long weekend. Unions and incredibly lazy and over entitled workers are the sole reason for the collapse of car manufacturing industry in australia. Pick up a newspaper some time.
