I got it!! Probably two months ago I posted on here about getting a 1987 Mercedes 300E, and I got it. I wont go into details with it all but it runs great and I dont feel anything wrong that's major so I'm happy. Now, when I got the car the front speakers didnt work, so I went ahead and bought new ones to replace the deteriorated ones. When I plugged up the new ones there was still no audio. I went ahead and ripped out the aftermarket radio that the previous owner had in it and the wiring was wrong. The front wires were plugged to the back on the radio and the back were plugged in where the front wires should have went. So I went ahead and fixed that, but still no audio in the front. So heres my question. Is the wiring to the front speakers bad, or is there a fuse for the front speakers I have to replace? I will be posting photos of how the wiring looked, and how I have it now.

sounds like shit wiring...you dont put fuses inline with speakers...just run new wires, you can try tying the new ones to the old ones and pulling them through, but you will probably just have to pull shit apart to fix it.
Re-connected with splice connectors instead of twisted wire and tape.

I might just take out the dash and try to re-wire. I just dont wanna do it and then it's still not fixed. Also, do you know what that black part on the wire is? *Pic is power cables to radio*
Rear speaker wiring *Didnt take the tape off and splice because I didnt have enough wiring and dont know what that black thing is for so I left it*
What should be the front speaker wiring, but no sound comes out. Absolutely nothing.

no, but as far as radios go. Most have three to four wires for power...you will have a ground going in or the chasis of the unit will be the ground. Then you will have a all time power for clock if it has one. A key on power and then one for the light so it turns on with the dash lighting....then you will have your audio wires....and as long as your head unit isnt borked it will work. Did u try hooking speakers straight to the radio to test the front channel? If that checks out just rewire the dash and enjoy. Its not really a case of "will it work or not" after that.
Next are pictures of wires that werent connected to anything and I have no connection for. This one is a green with black, and a red with black.

That's a good idea. But if it works then does that mean it's just the wiring? Do you know what that black part on the wire is where I showed the speaker connected to the dash?
Just a random blue wire?
A blue and brown wire, then just a brown wire.

yeah, if it works its bad wiring. And i have no idea...look up the radio model online, or if its just a wire from the car, then it was probably meant for the original unit and u can ignore it

just rewire what doesnt work and tie up the wires that dont go anywhere...having pointless and odd wires is one of the joys of a ols car with multiple owners...as long as you use common sense you arent going to hurt anything.

Ok. I'll just connect a speaker and see what happens. *Pic is listing online of wires for radio in car*

Yea. It's funny because I've never done this since it's my first car, but I'm pretty sure I'm doing good so far. I'd say I did a great job at crimping together the wires and stuff. Got this wire cutter with crimp on amazon yesterday for I think $11? Works great lol.
Well, I hooked the speaker directly to the radio and it worked so it's just bad wiring. Thanks for the help guys. Time to rip open my dash.
