Not sure why the tach goes all the way up to 4000rpm. It redlines at ~2200rpm.

now, my old ford with a 390cu v8 makes all its power under 3000...it actually floats valves around 4k.

Sheeit. My FE got that with a piece of shit edelbrock on it. And tachs are easy to wire. Just go get you a little 30 dollar one and either mount it on the dash, or on the side of the column...you can run the read wire out the same hole as your speedo cable, bolt the ground to the metal dash somewhere and stuff the power wires in the fuse box.

whatever you like m8, i put mine on so i could keep engine around 2k for mileage..took me about 10 minutes and a big zip tie to stick it on column, but it certainly isnt needed. Most cars pre 80 never had a tach
