A semi totalled my car and I've got $8,000 to spend. I like the /o/ used car guide, but I have a slightly better budget than that, and would really prefer a car made in the last 10 years. If I'm looking for a 4-door with reliability, durability, and economy, what should I look at first?
My driving is primarily suburb and highway, with some regular long-distance drives.

Save $2000 and buy a brand new car.

Actually, if you're American that's $10,000 CAD... so you would only actually need to save like 500~ more

Corolla/camry/civic/accord. Try to find one not owned by an old lady or young woman.
>>13926524
This.

Toyota: Reliability and economy over all else
Honda: Still reliable but with a little bit of fun
I'd prefer the Accord, but that's just me.

>new car
yeah
no
fuck off
>>13926524
are you high? no
>>13926614
Why not the Corolla/camry/civic/accord?
>>13926470
This warmths my hearth.
I´ve got the 2012 version which is pretty much the same, they only updated its looks. 5-speed manual, full equipped.
Couldn´t ask for anything better, and my lust for hot hatchbacks is now undeniable.
98 XJ Sport and a case of rustproofing

An 03' Honda Civic is what I had. Got it used with 100k+ miles on it, but it ran like it had half that many. A Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla were probably my default choices.
You can get a lot of car for your money in the subcompact segment.
Honda Fit
Mazda2
Chevy Sonic (avoid the 1.8L though)
Ford Fiesta (may be out of your price range)
Enjoy getting nearly 40 mpg while having Bluetooth (except the Fit) and space in the back for your belongings

What is wrong with those if he wants a good DD?

You ask for help and then tell people to fuck off for making suggestions?
>>13926614
Thanks for being a dick, OP.
>>13927163
Thanks for the suggestion. I've been looking at a few that look really promising; getting a manual trans would be good, and the sub 30k mileage around $9k is nice too.

That's not me actually. I try NOT to act like a cunt most days.
>>13926455
I would go with what >>13926470 or with what >>13926524 suggested, but if I was in your shoes?
Mazda 6. they're cheap for the money and you can find used ones within your budget that haven't been too abused. Hell there's one being sold by a used dealership near my house with a decent reputaion, model is 2005, 52K miles going for 6K. Whatever you do shop around, there's always a good deal in hiding if you're willing to look.
get a 1976 cadillac eldorado
just do it

A Honda Civic from the double triangle-exhaust generation
Durable, reliable, economic, four doors and good room due to backseats going into the fucking floor when laid down, AND it drives better than most economy cars.
Plus it looks rad as fuck, especially with the red paint. I personally only like it with the red paint and have a sort of dream of owning one withint a couple of years
>>13928203
I literally have no clue what you're going on about.
>>13929336
Looks like this from behind, I think they started the generation in 2006 or 2007
>>13926455
Get a 2008 Honda Civic.

>Hurr mi carr gut rekt nd I hab munee I ned reliabke care with gudd gas mijelege whut I doo?
>"Well, OP, how about an affordable, yet reliable daily driver like the Honda Civic, Toyota Camry, or the-"
>Wut, no, fugg of! R u hi?
Don't ask for people's opinions if you're going to be a cunt.
OP is a faggot.
Sage.

>horrible interior
>looks like a chink
ugliest civic desu
>>13928139
Unfortunately the only Mazda6s I can find in-state were horribly priced for the mileage.
>>13931612
A Civic, a Honda Fit, or a 2010 Focus seems to be what I'm looking at. It'd be nice to have the SYNC in the Focus, but aside from that I'm just deciding how much more I want to pay for low mileage.
>>13931634
You poor guy. Already said that wasn't my post, but you keep raging alone in your room.
>>13934071
the Kia Rio is also worth considering in the subcompact category
