something like http://www.amazon.com/dp/B014MTAYK0/ plus torque for android = everything youll ever need
>>
Blue Driver. Works great; however, it probably costs too much. I have no complaints, though.
>>
where can i go to get an obd 1 checked? oreilleys and local lube shop dont have it
>>
BAFX Products - Bluetooth OBD2 scan tool

This is what I bought years ago and its has worked perfectly.

Your car may have a built-in system for checking OBD1 codes. In my '94 LeBaron, I could turn the power (not start though) on, off, on, off, on and then wait. And the CEL would blink X number of times for each number. So if I had, I dunno, a code 35 and a code 43, it would blink 3 times, slight pause, 5 times, long pause, 4 times, slight pause, 3 times.

Google your specific car and find out.

I use use this one as well. Haven't had it long, since my "new" truck is my first OBD2 capable vehicle, but it seems to do well.
I use it torque for android to read its codes and such.

AG Autronica Leonardo, don't think it works with Subaru

This shit right here. Plus, you can plugin additional PIDs for further analysis (torque).
>>
I tried torque for android but it didn't fucking work, so i got an Innova handheld scanner. Breddy gud man.

I avoid the ones where I need a phone to use it, but they're ok if you're ok with that. I have an 80 dollar reader from Harbor Freight or something. It gets the job done. I have factory computer tools, but I don't want to keep those in the car for obvious reasons.
>>
why not a gauge?

if you can spring for it, get a Accessport, it has a code reader built in and all the other goodies.
>>
some of us dont use fucking androids.

So, what's a good OBDII scanner out there?
>>
Anyone know a good one that can read tranny and abs codes for a ferd for under $100 that isn't Bluetooth?
>>
>>13906943
Abs for that cheap is a hard one. The cheapest scan tool with abs diagnostics is probably a launch crp123.

I have an older one, works well enough but some of the datastream function is wonky
